Defending the Constitution and second Amendment

You got plenty of lawyer types serving in Congress now. They know what is going on and they know the law. I would like to think these high profile represenetatives would be bringing legitimate charges against those who choose not to honor their oath of office. Maybe they have an alternate plan. Who knows? Obviously, to date, this a'int happening. The question is why? The squeaky wheel always gets the grease.

I agree with James in that you/we can't fight the federal gov't in this day and age. This isn't Oz and we aren't in Kansas anymore either. My guess is there are a heck of a lot more gun owners in Ct., Co, NY etc etc etc than anti-gun types, and they just had no choice but to sit back and take it in the shorts without even a voice much less a vote. I just make a donation to the NRA. They have some ability to fight this legally in court. This will not end well IMHO. Two generations of dumbed down citizens, a dozen new smokescreens created weekly and free junk to keep them lapping at the trough of Uncle Sam. Thank God I live in Texas!! Just pack up the truck and move to Texas, John. Love to have you down here.
I agree. And here is one observation. Stinks of conspiracy theory, but never the less. Did you notice the latest trend (just about weekly)? A guy shoots somebody and then shoots himself? Looks like brain conditioning. The one who shot himself before shooting anybody else had his wires crossed accidentally. Might be Gleiwitz incident all over again (Newtown sure looks like it). And it looks like the ones who decide who is gonna be elected are in a hurry: 2A is not taken care of yet, but democrat-president talks about cutting SS already. It's not Kansas any more, American people don't want guns any longer, they want marijuana now (according to gov polls).

Gentlemen...this is the phrase put at the end of Feinsteins Assualt weapons ban that protects her from any responsibility....so they just throw it out there and see what sticks. They can only be removed for trying to overthrow the government....I am sure they can also be removed for criminal acts also....but they are protected by that little phrase for anything they propose....basically...they are untouchable as far as what they propose....so the attorney gave me good advise....Suing them is a waste of time and money because you will not win it.

SEC. 78. SEVERABILITY. If any provision of this Act, an amendment made by
this Act, or the application of such provision or amend- ment to any person or circumstance is held to be unconsti- tutional, the remainder of this Act, the amendments made by this Act, and the application of such provision or amendment to any person or circumstance shall not be af- fected thereby.

I think this is a noble idea. But what if unknown to us citizens, secret sweet deals are being made with our elected officials and they're being bought off (picked off) one by one until what we have is no longer a representative form of government.

At some point, don't you just HAVE to say that the US Constitution is the law no matter WHAT X-Y-Z Commie has managed to pay off govt officials and get past the now broken and unfixable "preocess".

Do we simply lay down because our government has been taken over by hook and crook and just accept it?

Or, do we say "hell no" and decide that the cost to our future and our children's future is at stake, therefore, we MUST rise up and fight back?

Anyone still doubting that all this "Gun Control" stuff is hiding a much more sinister end game is in denial. This IS going somewhere. And we DO NOT want to go there. But unless we start understanding that there will be pain and suffering, we are going to slide right down the slippery slope of oppression sooner or later. Later is ALWAYS harder to fight back from.

Just my 2 cents.

I agree with what you are saying...for myself...I will never give up my guns or my freedom...and whoever comes to take that away needs to be prepared to risk their life to do it....because I will fight for my freedom ...life with our being free...is no life for me.

They're not going to take anything away from you, they're just going to tax the bejesus out of everything they don't want you to have.

The "Art of War" teaches that you must pick your battles. There is a young lady who was on Fox news (and subsequently on youtube) recently who is a national class competition shooter. She is pursuing scholarships with her skill just like any other sport or athlete. Her rifle and the ranges she uses are being regulated. If she leaves her home state of Del with her firearm to compete, she cannot bring the rifle back. This is the type of lawsuit and case that needs to be filed. First your define her right to transport and compete... you pick away at the laws with indisputable reason and sound law, maybe one thread at a time... the same way you pull apart any other tangled knot.

At first pass I wouldn't waste my money on that lawyer; his response struck me as a bit dismissive and specious. Why can't I yell "Fire" in a crowded theater that isn't on fire? For the same reason I cannot discharge a firearm in a crowded theater when there is no one shooting at me. In either case I still have rights of free speech and bear arms, I am simply not abusing them by arbitrarily yelling or shooting for no reason creating unnecessary havoc. This, of course, is what the grabbers think happens with the simple possession of a gun.

Using the same thought process correctly, if there was a fire in the theater I SHOULD yell "FIRE!" and hope everyone is warned and are able to remove themselves from the life-threatening situation. If someone was shooting at me in that same theater I SHOULD defend myself with a like firearm and allow others to remove themselves from a life-threatening situation. I guess in the one situation I should and in the other the grabbers say no I shouldn't.....

Sorry, this whole bestowing selective rights thing reminds me why we kicked out England in the first place.....

I thought the same exact thing about that "Attorney" as you...

and as far as kicking England out, I guess ole Jim here would have just moved somewhere else instead of fighting.

But then, none of this can EVER happen in Arkansas....

I would not have lived up there to begin with but like I said before. I am proud of the leaders here standing up for the rights of our citizens in the face of strict opposition. Arkansas was one of the first states to institute a voter identification bill to make sure that those who vote only get one ballot as opposed to voting 100s or 1000s of times under different peoples names.
