Defense loads for 340PD - Lite weight

Buffalo Bore ammo is well made but at $26.66/20 rounds it's a little too expensive. I also find it very hard to believe they are achieving 850 fps from a 2" barrel at standard .38 Special pressures. Most +P pressure rounds don't achieve those velocities.

I know the Speer SB ammo isn't much cheaper @$21.99/20 but it can also be bought in 50 round boxes at a greatly discounted price. Also, the Speer Lawman ammo can be bought for $23.49/50 rounds for practice. Again not cheep but better than most these days...

I carry .357 Mag. Federal 130 Gr Hydrashock in my 340PD. Very accurate, no bullet jump, 100% reliable.

I reload my .357 Mag. cases with 148 Gr. HBWC to 800F/S. That is an almost pleasant practice load in an airlight. I never fire .38 Special cases in a .357 revolver if I can avoid it.
