I am potentially looking at picking up a CORE 5" M&P9 and based on good reviews and price probably getting the DeltaPoint Red-Dot Optic (probably DP2). I like a crisp dot and not a fan of the triangle so I will being with the 3.5 MOA Dot if so.
They sell these in 2 different variations ....
All-Mounts
and
Cross-Slot Mount
Which one is the one compatible with the M&P9 CORE? (and why if you don't mind so I know the difference).
Are they both exactly the same just the cross-slot is just the sight ... and the all-mounts is the same optic but comes complete with many different mounts for other handguns, revolvers, etc. etc.???
But if the Core has the mounts already with the gun I would assume I would not need the all-mounts kit just the standard cross-slot mount correct???
Please no buy an RMR replies as I do not plan on spending that type of money on an optic ... my gun will be for fun and basic range target shooting, etc., no competition as of yet so a good reliable Cheaper red-dot if what I will be buying (only in the 2-4 hundred at the Absolute MOST).
Thanks so much for the help and information!
SIDE QUESTION: ... I see that the Burris Fastfire III is basically compatible with the core using the #5 plate ... I know they sit a little higher but I do not care about the co-witness ... is this a good option as well? I saw a thread which I plan on bumping and asking more questions but figured I would ask here on the side as well.
I have an AR-15 with a ACOG type 4X Prism sight that has a picatinny rail on top and I thought about buying the Burris for that ... if it works for the CORE I may be able to use both when I want if I can zero the Burris to the CORE and it works well with the AR ... kill 2 birds with one stone.
But I plan on doing this either way whether it's the DeltaPount or Burris in using it for the M&P CORE and the M&P15 AR.
And with this being said about using for both firearms are the All-Mounts a better option to use it for both? (My thought is the cross-slot mount is used just the handgun maybe but the All-Mounts has many different extra mounts in the box for more application).
But between the DeltaPoint and this Burris it's only about 100 dollars difference ... would it be better to go with the Leupold for a better quality sights and fit along with the lifetime warranty and being an optic more veteran shooter would I'm sure recommend over the Burris?
