Did anyone ever find "the one"

Would be like trying to do the same thing with your kids or with your dogs.

It's never been a goal, never will be.

That might be easier, especially the dog.

I have three kids, two dogs, and a whole lot more handguns.

If I had to narrow it down to one ccw gun my s&w m58 in 41mag in nickel would be the one.

My CZ 75P01 is light, has a rail, shoots 9mm with a 14 round magazine, and I have a Kadet upper for it, so it doubles as a plinker.

And I have a Ruger LCR, which is supper light, holds 5 rounds, and I can poket carry and shoot it repeatedly from my jacket pocket if need be.

Between the two, I could get rid of all my other handguns and be at peace. But I enjoy shooting other guns, too, so I'm not rushing out to sell the rest off.

To clarify my thinking, I have been getting sick of having clutter around. I have numerous rifles and handguns but honestly I only shoot the working guns, so part of me wants to downsize.

Part of it is that I have been romancing about living in a little cabin so part of my brain is on a minimalist trend.

Sure that is a worthwhile goal. I don't think that having more than one handgun is that much clutter, though. Probably having different calibers might be in issue though. Still, if I had to have just one handgun and I wished to carry everyday here in Florida, it would be a snub hammerless revolver in 38spl. Not the most powerful of handguns, but it will most likely handle anything I can reasonably expect to have to kill. Unless you are have large bears to contend with that would be my choice. If you do have large bears, and you cannot carry a rifle, then you are going to have to have more than one handgun.

I own 4 handguns. I've been carrying a Glock 19 for the last year. Before that I carried an M&P9 for pretty close to 3 years. I switched to the 19 because it's just that little bit smaller which makes it that much easier to conceal and because I can buy OEM magazines for the Glock for about 10 bucks cheaper than S&W magazines. There's really nothing else out there that I'm all that interested in.

I don't know if I "found the one" or just lost interest in looking. The Glock 19 meets my carry/home defense needs and there's really nothing else out there that catches my eye.

I have other guns but other than 2 that I bought in private sales nothing that I couldn't live without. So I guess the Glock is "the one".

I don’t care for pistols I have them but always been a revolver guy. We’re all going to get old someday to the point we can’t rack the slide on a pistol?

This is a which ccw gun would you pick if you could only have one question? Narrowing down your collection.

I said my s&w m58/41mag. I still like my 357’s & 44 mags too.

After considerable thought, it would likely be one of my 1911's. Choosing which one of them would be the really hard part, but the USGI 1911 and Sig 1911 Ultra Compact would be in the running.

Even if I had one gun that did it all for me, and I desired no other gun, I'd still want a duplicate just in case.

So even if I narrowed it to one, I'd have to have two.

My search for the "perfect" specimen is unending. Unfortunately, I'm usually a sucker for the "latest thing."

Fella by the name of Rogers sold me this one, assuring me that it was the latest thing...

I've bought and sold a lot of guns and owned over a 100 through the years and I got rid of all polymer guns except my LCPII .380 because it is so small and light. Currently two guns I recently acquired are my absolute favorites, a 1979 four inch Highway Patrolmen and a Browning HP 9m/m, but based on my history that will probably change some day.
