wow! you did well nice, i would say if you guys can help me out im geussing late 80s to early 90s? well done.

I got this one from Bud's. It really shows some holster wear, but shoots great. I really like the 3rd Generation S&W Semi-Auto's. They just feel solid. I really want the full size, I think it is the 5906.

Nice. I'm sure it shoots just as good as mine does, and I'm sure I overpaid for mine. But, I just can't take delivery of any gun, new or used, that doesn't look new. I saw quite a few 6906's that were cheaper, but when the owner says "scratch on grips", or "holster wear. A working gun", I just can't buy them. But I am happy with the gun, and I don't notice the difference in carry with the 3913 I sold. The fatter grip is outside the wasitband, anyway, and I can double the capacity with 5906 mags. I still prefer metal to polymer.

Yes you did slightly overpay within the brand and what is available. HOWEVER, you didn't compared to other pistols.
For instance it's every bit as good as an HK or Sig if not better and those cost the same if not more. The workmanship and steel is just as good.

So yeah, it's worth about $500 per the market now, but that means nothing.
You got a gun that's only gonna go up in value if you keep it nice, afterall it's a mint Smitty and they don't make em mint but once! :)

Beautiful gun and since you got basically the same amount for your 3913 and are happy with it, you did not overpay. I got my 6906 from Gander Mt in April (square trigger guard but in good shape) and am very happy with it.

I dunno...I paid $275.00 plus tax for a LNIB example a year or so ago. Only one magazine though.

My local shop just doesn't see 3rd Generation Smith's as being all that desireable. Good for me, I guess...

They are all worth what someone is willing to pay for one...

What is the difference between the chrome flash and the blackened?
Which one is newer?

"For instance it's every bit as good as an HK or Sig if not better..."

I agree entirely. I own all three brands, including a SIG 220, an HK USP40, a Smith 6906 and a Smith 945 and, though I like them all, I prefer the Smiths. IMO, any and all Third Generation Smiths are as good or better than equivalent SIGs or HKs and represent a much better value.

I agree performance wise, they are as good as any other top name brand, nowever, they DO lack the refined "feel" of some other guns. I have 3 Beretta 92's, and they are as smooth as silk. Racking the slide on a Beretta feels like it's rolling on ball bearings. The 6906 is "clunkier", but it sure does shoot nicely!
