I've put the Walther PPQ 9mm on a pedestal ever since I bought it. It's a terrific handgun. The accuracy, the trigger, I even like the mag release.
I bought the M&P in a .40 not long ago, hated the trigger, but saw some potential. I replaced with an APEX DCAEK and it's also an amazing pistol...but I still kind of held it just below the PPQ.
Well, long story short, it had been a while since I took out the PPQ, so I grabbed it today. I'm not sure if it was me or what (doubt it, I was hitting a silhouette target at 100 yds with my Mark 22/45 Lite) but I think my M&P may have unseated the Walther. I felt the recoil was snappy from the lightweight, more so than my M&P .40. The trigger was no longer top dog, the APEX takes honors. I think S&W just unseated my PPQ.
Sure, it took a little modification with the trigger kit, but I feel more confident in the M&P at this point. Maybe it's just been too long and I need to give her another outing with direct competition between the two. As of right now, though, the PPQ may actually go up on the chopping block as a result.
