Did my M&P just unseat my PPQ?

I've put the Walther PPQ 9mm on a pedestal ever since I bought it. It's a terrific handgun. The accuracy, the trigger, I even like the mag release.

I bought the M&P in a .40 not long ago, hated the trigger, but saw some potential. I replaced with an APEX DCAEK and it's also an amazing pistol...but I still kind of held it just below the PPQ.

Well, long story short, it had been a while since I took out the PPQ, so I grabbed it today. I'm not sure if it was me or what (doubt it, I was hitting a silhouette target at 100 yds with my Mark 22/45 Lite) but I think my M&P may have unseated the Walther. I felt the recoil was snappy from the lightweight, more so than my M&P .40. The trigger was no longer top dog, the APEX takes honors. I think S&W just unseated my PPQ.

Sure, it took a little modification with the trigger kit, but I feel more confident in the M&P at this point. Maybe it's just been too long and I need to give her another outing with direct competition between the two. As of right now, though, the PPQ may actually go up on the chopping block as a result.

I also own a PPQ 9mm and love it too. My only complaint with it is the looks. It looks like the offspring of an HK and a Hipoint. They shoot great and I have become comfortable with the mag realese. I just wish I could find more mags for the PPQ. I have always wondered how many others here own the PPQ

Yep the Walther is an ugly spud... But, I shoot a much tighter group with my Walther than with my M&P FS. I can stay in a 8x11 at 25 yards with the Walther but not with the M&P

I am not sure if you are aware, but I believe the Magnum Research magazines for their licensed Walther fit and function in the P99 and the PPQ. They are the latest generation and have the lower front wall and the relief cut on the left feed lip to clear the ejector. You might check over at the Walther Forum and read up on it, but sometimes the MR mags are easier to find and also are less expensive. They are made by the same supplier who makes them for Walther - MecGar, the magazine company.

The Mag Research mags work great. Problem is you can't find them. The new PPQ M2 mags will not work with the original PPQ and vice versa due to the new mag release.

I have 3 mags, one of them being Magnum Research. No issues with any of them. No issues period with the PPQ after 1200-1500 rds, and I do love the paddle mag release. It had been a while since I shot it, so it probably just needs a little more love. Also, I had already spent a good part of the day shooting about 150-200rds .38 and .22lr so I was probably spent for the most part as I find anything over 250rds I get sloppy. The 3 mags I loaded of the 9mm just threw me off a bit after the other two and the slight "fatigue" starting to set is my guess. Think I may take her and the M&P out next time for a true shoot-off.

I've been looking for a PPQ for a long time. I had the PPQ and the H&K P30 in my hand and went with the P30....after a year, i don't regret it but I'm sure i didn't get $400 more gun with the H&K. The P30 is an awesome gun but I realize now I could have had the PPq and a case of ammo and would have been just as happy. If your selling let me know.

I have a PPQ in 9mm. If the bore axis were a bit lower it would be the perfect pistol for me. The trigger is awesome, it is comfortable and accurate. I have an M&P9 FS and the trigger is garbage on it. Not a fan of the sights either. So I am looking at $300.00 to get it where it should be. I think that stinks, but I do love the ergos of the M&P. It is also one of the softest shooting 9mm pistols I have ever used.

I had the APEX Duty kit, APEX trigger, and Ameriglo sights installed on my 9C. I'll be shooting it for the first time this weekend to comapre it against my PPQ. I left the stock TRS in place and I can tell the pull is slightly less than my PPQ.
