Hey guys I have been doing some research but can't find the difference between the 2 models. And no, it's not the magpul/mbus sights/stocks. So I'm sure is something else because the TACTICAL it's about $50 more expensive than the MOP model. Tactical It's the most expensive 15-22 on the market.
Thanks.

Never heard of a "Tactical" model of the 15-22. Is a distributor special? Do you have a model number?

Only exclusive model I have ever seen was the green one made for Academy...

I don't think there is a difference at all....except $'s. It is dressed in MOE parts....the only 3 variants of the 15-22 are the normal one, the MOE and the PC version with the fluted barrel.

I think 'tactical' is used as a descriptive way of making the rifle more 'tacticool' plus in this day and age everyone and his dog are either tactical or a former navy seal (no offence to any former navy seals or current ones).

I am shaking my head Chris Costa style.

As far as i know, no factory model with the designation 'tactical' has been produced. Other than it is more 'tacticool' than any other 22lr out there.

There IS an obvious difference in item/model # plus a $49 price tag difference between the regular MOE and the Tactical MOE.

Looks like its just the California compliant MOE version that comes with a 10 rd mag.

Agreed..

When you google the model# or UPC that seems to be the most consistent response. Nothing on the S&W web site, but they're a wee bit slow updating the online catalog.

Match Grade Barrel

No, It reads in the S/W Manual that the Tactical Model has a Match Grade Barrel.

Out of stock prices are meaningless, but maybe you're just paying an extra $40 for it to come to you with the stock already extended :P

There is no such statement in the manual that I can find. Can you provide a page number?

It's the Performance Center model that has the match chamber and barrel. That said, the accuracy difference is minimal in actual performance.
