Differences Between Adjustable Rear Sights of 9mm and 10mm Guns

I have a S&W 1006 with adjustable rear sights. Love the gun, but I just rather have some type of night sight instead of the white dots. I see that Trijicon has a setup for the 5906 with adjustable sights, but is specifically for 9mm/.40 guns. Does the rear slider between the two guns interchange?

I have been talking to Novak about this, being they have a 1006 for sale, just like mine (they did work on it, of course). One of the attributes of their listing is the gun has complete tritium sights, front and rear. Looking at the parts on Brownells (5906 and 4506, since they don't list the 10mm), the same rear slider is listed for both.

Checking the front sights on Brownells, I see that there are a few different heights listed for both models (different between them). Are the bases on all of these sights the same? I realize that a higher/lower front dot will make a difference on point of aim, but I should be able to compensate with the adjustable rear.

If I could buy the 9mm Trijicon version, and install it on my 10mm, I'd be very happy. If I need to go with the 10mm/.45 front, I don't think I'm going to go that route. Probably easier to trade the slide for one that is setup for Novak sights.

Thanks, in advance.

If you are refering to the sight leaf, I believe the answer is yes. As a matter of fact, the sight leaf looks to me like it is identical to a revolver sight leaf. The revolver sights don't have the dots, of course and come in various heights.

That is great to hear about the rears. I use Brownells for my part numbers, mainly because they are handling Beretta's parts now, but sometimes there have things screwed up.

Using bad_man_ one's link, I looked at the front sights between a few different models (9mm/.40 versus 10mm/.45), but have not seen the same heights across the board. I did see .245 on both .45 and .40, but one was a night sight and the other was not. Are the fronts similar between 9mms and 10mms, with the heights being the difference? Or are the bases different?

Just wondering, since I wouldn't want to buy a 9mm set, and still need to get the front for the 10mm...
