The case feeder is a great asset. You can load 1000 45ACP loads in an hour without really pushing it, a comfortable pace. You'll be amazed at the production rate you can get.

I used to think that the casefeeder was a luxury. I got one with my XL650 and couldn't imagine using it without one to be honest.
By the way, you have a great wife, of course you already knew that!

I am thinking about the 650 or 1050 as my next loader. I use a 550b now and my production rates have never been anywhere close to advertised. Most of it is beacause my cases especially 38 SPl and 44 mag seem to be a little off center every couple of rounds into the resizer die. This stops my progress until I lower the handle enough to move the case a little to fit in the die smoothly. My friend has 2 1050s and his production rates are out of sight. He also has a 550b 550b he leaves dedicated for 38specials. To have such a probelm!!
I've haven't seen one (550) set up with a case feeder, but I would think they would work good, Dillon isn't known for putting out any junk.
I have heard that the lower part of the feeder is caliber specific, so with the conversion kits you need to get these parts too.
All of Dillon's stuff is top notch IMHO.

Glad you upgraded! I also have never used my 650 without the case feeder...it's great.
I did plug the two holes in the back/bottom to keep media from falling on my bench and I added a mirror this winter which helps me keep an eye on how full the hopper is...got it at Dollar General/Dollar Store

I can't take credit for the pipes...they guy who owned the house before me built it and the pipes are all well insulated!

I shopvac out the feeder...the stuff always falls on the top of the bench...plugging saves the mess.

Sheet metal screws are permanent and duct tape is fast.
