I have been reloading on a Dillon 650 for about five years now. This weekend, for the first time I used the powered casefeeder, a Christmas gift from my wife. No more stopping every 10-12 rounds to refill the drop tube, production goes way up. Thanks again to my wonderful wife.

The case feeder is a great asset. You can load 1000 45ACP loads in an hour without really pushing it, a comfortable pace. You'll be amazed at the production rate you can get.

I used to think that the casefeeder was a luxury. I got one with my XL650 and couldn't imagine using it without one to be honest.

By the way, you have a great wife, of course you already knew that!

The case feeder brings the XL 650 to life!

Never tried mine without one, but I can imagine it would be a whole lot slower.

I am thinking about the 650 or 1050 as my next loader. I use a 550b now and my production rates have never been anywhere close to advertised. Most of it is beacause my cases especially 38 SPl and 44 mag seem to be a little off center every couple of rounds into the resizer die. This stops my progress until I lower the handle enough to move the case a little to fit in the die smoothly. My friend has 2 1050s and his production rates are out of sight. He also has a 550b 550b he leaves dedicated for 38specials. To have such a probelm!!

Has anyone added the caseloader to their RL550B?
any problems? I have had my 550 for 8 years and it would be nice to not have to feed it cases with every pull.

thanks,

I've haven't seen one (550) set up with a case feeder, but I would think they would work good, Dillon isn't known for putting out any junk.

I have heard that the lower part of the feeder is caliber specific, so with the conversion kits you need to get these parts too.

All of Dillon's stuff is top notch IMHO.

dpsix,
Glad you upgraded! I also have never used my 650 without the case feeder...it's great.

I did plug the two holes in the back/bottom to keep media from falling on my bench and I added a mirror this winter which helps me keep an eye on how full the hopper is...got it at Dollar General/Dollar Store

Narcissist...

Von, your as paranoid as I am! I note the pipe insulation you put on the house plumbing just above the press set up!

Now there's a grand idea, Thanks!

I don't understand pluging the holes, there supposed to let stuff fall out.

Spotteddog,
I can't take credit for the pipes...they guy who owned the house before me built it and the pipes are all well insulated!

John R,
I shopvac out the feeder...the stuff always falls on the top of the bench...plugging saves the mess.

I got ya, maybe I'll give that a go.
What did you plug them with?
