Dinner $186, plus tip..........

Congrats on the anniversary and nice dinner! I'll bet your lady loved it.

The ex and I used to dine at some top notch places and spent some ridiculous money doing it. $250 at the Rainbow Room in New York City (back in the 90's), $225 at the Turtle Creek Mansion in Dallas (back in 90's too) and some I can't remember the name. Not sure but I bet the toll would be higher now with inflation.

Always fun to dress up (tux or suit n tie) and the lady in a fancy dress and head out for a dinner in a restaurant we normally wouldn't go to. Made us feel like we were somebody famous.

Wife and I went up to to Banff in Alberta, Canada to the Fairmont Hotel for our anniversary.

Great place, excellent food, breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast, etc. starts at $23.50 per person.

Wonderful view from the room of the Canadian Rockies, it was October and the colors were magnificent.

Another nice restaurant is Eddie's in Great Falls, MT. Their ranch hand cut T-bone steak at about 3.5 pounds is more than enough for me and the missus.

Taking the mom out is absolutely GREAT and a small way to say THANK YOU for making my life so wonderful.

You done. Sometimes it's just important to show her "you're worth it, babe." One of the reasons the missus and I decided to settle down just outside Greenville is because the town has great dining.

It was our anniversary last weekend, too, and I took my wife out for our usual celebration - the Friends of NRA banquet. And the new NRA folding knife came with my best wishes for a happy Mother's Day. Lucky for me she has a good sense of humor.
Actually, she does enjoy the goofballs at our table, and the food was excellent.

Went to Chicago in feburary for mama to take a class. I went to check off another bucket list item. Gene and Georgettis Steak House. Somewhere around $185.00 for both of us. Well worth the effort.

I try to take my awesome wife as much as I can now. For breakfast, lunch or dinner when it's possible. Cheap great home cooked meals (camos accepted) out at our local places to high end places.(dressed up)

I pick up the tab all the time even mothers day I don't let my kids pay.

I just through her a 60th birthday bash with close friends, co-workers and family. It was priced decent at a better place. The cost to me was $1k. No biggie she never bothers me about my hobbies.

Now I owe her our 40th anniversary dinner we'll hit a good High class restaurant.(no camos).

I'm hoping this fall to rent a bus and take the family with a few close friends to New York City out to dinner at Lugers Steak House then to Radio Music Hall for the Rocketts christmas show.

We're getting to the age who knows who will be around next year so it's my treat now.

geesh, didn't realize there were so many 'classy' folks on here:)
I live in the middle of no where, the sticks if you will. The biggest town in the county has a stop light and 2 fast food eating joints. There is one place that has a nice buffet for $15/person and that's for special occasions. I guess i'm not with the 'in' crowd haha. I shoot or grow most of our food. But seriously I agree our wives do deserve the best for all they do to keep us in line, I know that's no easy task.

After reading over my post, I just realized how redneck I am, and i'm ok with that :D

It's all about spending time together over a nice meal. And spending time with family, friends and co workers talking then having a nice meal together while rebonding with some of them who we haven't seen in years. I live in a rural area kind of with horse farms but we have one fast foodplace with a few greasy spoons. But we have a few nice places to eat in the next town. There the jewels of the area.

I would buy my wife anything she wants but she asks for nothing. She's the saver and I'm the spender/investor sort of. I'm lucky to have her.

I agree completely. We are the same as far as I'm the spender of toys I want and she saves and rarely ask for things she wants. If she asked for a $1000 steak I would promply get it for her, no questions asked. Nothing is better than a good woman, not even *gasp*...guns.

I'm not classy I wear camos most of the time. It really wasn't accepted to wear them here till Phil on DUCK DYNASTY. Now my kids don't laugh at me and jazz me.(pants). There very comfortable.

After my prostate cancer is in remission I have been a new man
and just don't care about money, I'm not rich nor ever lived a classy life style and still don't. After my brush with possibly the hear after I'm a changed man. It's being very shy around people that was my curse. Now I just don't give a dam what people think I am what I am. It's time to enjoy the family more even if we go to McDonald's for happy meal for the grandson were still together and bonding. That's what counts.

My buddy came back from a month trip to central Europe where he was taking care of family things. When he came back on Saturday his first thing was to make sure I'm free on Sunday so that we can hit up a few nice bars. Said there is no good beer in that part of the continent. Nothing but lagers. Anyway, on Sunday we rang up a $200 beer tab.

It's all about having a good time with those who are close to you.

Camos were in style many places before Duck Dynasty.

I stopped in to get some auto parts in Fairfield, California and the guy immediately asked if I had gotten any pheasants.

A few years later, we (wife and I) stopped for dinner at Taco Bell in King City, California and the manager came running over to see if we had gotten a buck.

Twelve years ago, we moved to eastern Washington from northern California. Camo was daily attire for most everyone of either gender. A tie is the exception. Jack in the Box was almost 100 miles away.

Next weekend we go to the "big city" (Portland) to see my new nephew and for my birthday. We'll be having dinner at Jakes Crawfish (Enough said==if you have to ask, you wouldn't understand)

The waiter or waitress makes or breaks the meal for us. This weighs in if they receive a good tip or just an average tip. All I'm saying is keep the water glasses filled, keep the mixed drinks filled or beer glasses filled.
Be a good waiter or waitress with our meals on time.(kitchen crew matters too). If the place were eating at is on top of there game I will be back. If it's not that good of service there I may give the place one more try. Anyone can have a bad night. But if the second time is as bad as the first time there won't be a third time.

My parents had there own eatery and I knew it as a kid how tough it really is. I always leave a good tip is the service is decent. If the service was excellent I may double my tip.

I take the bill lets say it's $100 for two of us. I take first two figures which is $10 x 2 and give her a $20 tip, if we had excellent service I may leave $30. If there is six or more with a $300 Bill I Times 2 again which is $60 and if the service was excellent I may leave her $80.
I had a $800 Bill for 22 people I left $200+ again if the service was excellent. If there are three people waiting on us it's a $300 tip. We brought the cake and they served it with coffee and the birthday song.

I know the restaurant bizz from both sides of the table. Either way the waitress or waiter makes the meal enjoyable too.
Remember an excellent meal, an excellent waitress/waiter means the misses is happy means they get an excellent tip.

My misses is a cancer survivor twice so what ever she wants I for her.

Dang, you got a buffet? We only have BBQ and catfish places and they are only open on Friday and Saturday.

Very nice gesture. And that will do wonders to help with that next firearm purchase I know you have planned ...:)

Worst part is having to put on a suit and tie for an outing !!

This trip was just black sox and shoes.........
Gray slacks and a nice dress shirt.......
and some after shave and a comb run one time through my thinning hair......... no big thing.

Sort of nice to "Clean up your act" every now and then.

Now if I am going for BBQ, I don't wear anything that "Can't take a beating" !!

For all of you getting ready to do the same for the little lady.........
be it a special occasion or you came into some cash.......

ENJOY !!
