Dirty Harry's S&W mod.29

I found,, after the first two movies, at the gun shop, had to go through a consultation with a salesman that DIDN'T want to sell a 29. My request followed two dozen others before me and was obvious if orders where taken he'd be answering call after annoying call of "did my gun come in yet" for many, many months. In the case below me as we hashed out the dilemma was a new 27 and a 28 ready to go,, but everyone wanted the .44 movie gun.

I graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1982 and my sister presented me with a wooden box with a 6-1/2" P&R M29 in blue velvet. She didn't like guns but knew I had always wanted a Dirty Harry .44 Mag and I was so excited I took it out to the pond and fired six rounds with no hearing protection. My ears rang all night long and I never made that mistake again, and I never really had a problem with the recoil but the muzzle blast was a little annoying even with muffs on. It never got shot much but was always a joy to look at.
