Disapointed with my M&P

Seems like they should be improving their products rather than status quo. I did rotate the pin which caused the locking nib to disfigure on the sharp edge of the tapered surfaces it rides against.

I used frog lube on mine and no more problems.

The "frame tool" is really just the fastener for the replaceable grips. I don't think anyone that has owned an MP would use it for the take down lever.. if it was looser, people would be complaining about that. It should be tight!

Exactly. It just gives an option to dry firing the gun to take it down. But dry firing is just so much easier than using the tool.

Sorry you don't like your MP 45 C. I have two MP's MP 45 fs and MP 9 fs.

Both outstanding! I leave that tool in place, after I changed the palm swell. Was it hard to take out? Sort of but oh well!!!

I use my car key to push down the lever inside for field strip.

Anywhere that white dot is, so goes the bullet! Deadly defense weapon. Works for me!

I think trigger reset is overrated. How many times would you consciously think to feel the reset? I used to shoot competition, and I don't think I could count how many rounds I've shot. Over 250 a weekend practice, about 550 a weekend during a tournament and not once do I even recall feeling or hearing a trigger reset. All I remember is that when I pulled the trigger the gun went boom. Only one time did it not and that is when the firing pin broke. I really don't understand why people make an issue out of trigger reset, in a panic situation are you really going to tell me, your going to even realize it reset? When I shot International Trap/Skeet, American Trap Doubles, I never once paid attention to trigger reset. I'm sorry, I just don't get it?

I agree completely on trigger reset. It is only an issue on the range where you are able to concentrate on it. In competition your mind is occupied with other things and trigger reset becomes irrelevant.

Never been in a gun fight, but I'm guessing I wouldn't have time to notice trigger reset then either.

That being said I do put Apexs in my M&P's because I like the feel, and liking your gun is important. I don't think I really shoot them better than I did out of the box when I first got them.

i swear people just come on forums to bitch and complain

And start new threads asking the same things over and over and over and over...

I was on here multiple times day but have grown tired of seeing the same exact topics every day. Most times multiples on the first page.

I think it's purpose is misunderstood. Trigger reset is a tool a shooter can use to help improve trigger control. Using the reset at the range only teaches one thing, pressing the trigger rather than slapping it. Even so, as speed increases, eventually a point will be reached where you'll have to slap the trigger somewhat.

So, no, I don't think a person will feel the reset under stress. But, if they have practiced on their trigger control, they will have that ingrained and do it automatically when under stress.

Do you have to use the trigger reset? No. Is it a valuable tool for training? Yes.

For defensive shooting I teach it this way. Present the gun from the holster and put two rounds dead center mass. If those two shots are more than a hand span apart, slow down a little. If they are within an inch or two of each other, speed up. If you can do this while slapping the trigger, OK. If you're missing the target and slapping the trigger, I'll talk to you about using the reset in an attempt to get better trigger control.

the frame tool is the last thing I would care/worry about. I don't think I have ever used it on all 4 of my M&ps

Just a little update on my 45c purchase... was going to order a few APEX goodies online directly from Randy, had the order in the shopping cart, just couldn't pull the trigger. :) Ended up at Guns Inc tonite after work, they had the kits in stock...... my 10lb plus Ma. trigger is now about 5lbs and I'm going to the range tomorrow. I was going to leave it alone, but I just have to tinker..:) I only did the sear and the return spring, going to leave the striker ***. alone for now... the trigger is just great. The trigger reset is amazing....

I`m tired of repeatable threads also but don`t you think these sites could do a better job at pinning topics. I don`t expect that will happen because that means less posting here...

Enjoyed reading the post's

As the OP, I thank all of you that have replied to my thread. I find it interesting that some would call my post "whining" I thought that forums such as this were places one could come and express likes and dislikes, but obvious I was wrong. If I was to ask "should I buy a shield even though I have a compact" it would be much more pleasant for you to read and ponder. For those that have misinterpreted my thread, I believe that S&W could have made some improvements to these fine pistols since I purchased my first one in 2008. S&W has made many improvements to its revolver line over the years, hence the dash numbers after the model number, and I hope that they would do the same with its M&P lineup.
If a guy in California can figure out how to make better trigger parts then why can't the brilliant engineers at S&W do the same? I look forward to your opinions!

you didn't respond to my fix for the front sight, give it a wipe with a q tip dipped in water.. bet it turns white... you're complaining about stuff that is a non issue... now you are looking for more to complain about. Comon, we're not that stupid. I shouldn't even respond with this.... but I can't hold myself back....:D

If I would not have "complained" about the yellow sight then I would not have the q-tip tip. Thanks, I will try it!
