I have been formally diagnosed with Black Rifle Disease and an addiction to all things camo. The symptoms have spread quickly to my taste in revolvers and now I'm counting Night Guards while falling asleep.

The logical addition is the 310 to add to my 10mm collection thread. The 386 with 8 357 Magnum is too good to pass up. The 325 seems like a real hoot. The 329 would fit right in with my other 629... Love the black-out look. With them all being $800+, one is probably all I should have in the cards but we all know how diseases can weaken our resolve and flatten our wallet.

Which one should it be?

I bought a 329 because I got tired of looking at sub-par or over-priced 24-3's. Of course we know how that worked out, 2 weeks later I saw and bought a 24-3.....but I digress about my Smith addiction.

I love the gun, it's light, the front sight is huge and a night sight. It's a great gun, but I have to confess to being a 44 guy when it comes to revolvers. One note though, they are too light in my opinion to shoot anything more than 44 spl or light 44's very often. When it comes to carry weight, it's a much easier carry than my 3" 629, so it;s a trade off. Nice trigger, I'd recommend one. As I'm sure you know, S&W has discontinued the line, so availability may be an issue one day.

I'd recommend the 329 or the 386, which is another fine caliber and more rounds in it. Both offer the option of lighter practice rounds.

Last week, while looking for a .45 acp revolver at my local gun shop, I got a little
"geeked up" for a few seconds when I spotted a NG in the used gun display case.

While looking at the tag, on what turned out to be a 329NG, I got
a little twinge of pain in my wrist just seeing .44 Mag typed on there. :o

I also got another little twinge of something else when I found out that it wasn't a 325NG. :(

Well Summer is almost over. I pretty much carry 38/357 Revolvers all summer with some shotshells close at hand for snakes.
Moving into cooler weather the 310 Night Guard, and the 3" 625 will see more time on the belt for concealed carry.

I really like the 310NG. Something about the lite weight makes if feel about like you are carrying a 2.5" Model 66. I think the lite weight of the revolver huggs the body closer than a steel N Frame. I think the heavier all steel N Frame 625 just moves a little more when moving around, while the Night Guard just stays close.

If I were going to pick between a choice of:

315NG
386NG
396NG
310NG
325NG
327NG
329NG

It would be a rough choice. I can find things about them all that I like.
The 315NG is a nice size and weight for concealed carry.
The 386NG is hard to beat with a choice of 38 or 357 Magnum.
The 396NG is a 44 Special, and we all know they are Just Special, and it is an L Frame to boot.
The 310NG is another favorite with a great choice of 40 S&W ammo, and an endless supply of brass at the local range.
The 329NG is probably over the top shooting 44 Magnum, however it will shoot 44 Special loads just fine. I have had several 4" 29's and 629's over the years, and I like a 44 just fine.
Then we have the 325NG. We all love a 45acp revolver, whats not to love.
Then we have 8 rounds of 357 Magnum power in a 327NG.

Like I was saying it would be a hard choice. I lucked out with my 310NG. It was the only choice when I ran into it with enough money in my pocket to haul it home. I have had a 610 for 20 some years, so it was not a hard choice.

Well put Bob. My 10mm tendencies tug hard when I see the 310. My S&W tendencies are useless in this area as far as coming to a decision. I'm leaning to this order:

310
327
329
325
396
386
315

Might have to start down the list and go until the fun tickets are gone...

A few years ago, I looked at several, while they were plentiful. I liked the 396, but wasn't especially enamored with it. However, I saw the 325, and it struck the right chord. I bought it, and it's still one of my daily carry guns.

Now, for my "Mr. Bozo of the Century Award" - It goes to me. I could have picked up a new 396 until about six months ago. Nice move!!

Right now I have a 310NG, 327NG and 357NG

If you really want some fun, have the 310NG, or a 610,
opened up to shoot 10MM Magnum along with the 10MM Auto
and 40S&W that it currently shoots.

Hard to say which one I would buy if I only had one. These three were on my radar the day that I reported on them from the SHOT show a few years ago

Call me when you work your way up to N frame revolvers. Now off to find a model 57.
