It has been awhile since I carried a SA revolves, When I did I was comfortable with the gun and could shoot it well. I learned to shoot on a single action 22 Lr. then DA pistols in the Air Force ,I have gain a wee bit of weight. But if I spent some time practiced I could be comfortable carrying a SA, I have a Ruger black hawk in 45 colt/45acp I would need a pancake holster.

NO

Not my cup of tea. I've never been able to keep any in the stable, as they just don't excite me.

If that's your thing, have at it. Nothing wrong with carrying what you feel good with.

Always a 649! Depends on where I am headed, especially into urban areas a BHP with an extra mag or 2 always tags along.

As far as single action revolvers, depends on environment. I have carried a SA revolver for self-defense in woods/hiking situation. As far as EDC travelling or in "civilization", no. I have carried a BHP and would again. Given the choice though it would be a BHP with SFS (Shoot Fast Safe) system.

Since posting this, I have once again become the proud owner of a Browning Hi Power 9mm. I had the front slide dovetailed for a better sight to replace the blade front sight. This week, I will drop it off to have the dovetail on the rear of the slide enlarged to accommodate a better fixed rear sight that is more compatible with the front sight. So, once again, a single action will become my EDC.

I carry a 1911 from time to time (OWB in a Tagua holster), and a Browning High Power at others (IWB in a summer comfort holster).

I will be carrying my new Single Seven with it's new Mernickle scabbard for the next three days while camping by the river. They were kind enough to previously make me a seven round ammo slide for my Rugers in .327 Federal Magnum.
