Do I need another 2” 15-2?

The 15-2 snubbies are great shooters. My wife inherited her grandfather's 15-2, along with a Bucheimer suede holster and carved 6-rd cartridge belt...he was Chief of Detectives in Downey, CA in the 60s. It's a little strange though because per SCSW the revolver dates to 1962 (K509199), but the 2" barrel was supposedly not introduced until 1964. We're not sure if it was just in S&W storage for a while, or if it was re-barrelled. Irregardless, it's a beautiful firearm and my wife qualified for her CCW with that revolver.

Yeah, I am a Nevada resident who works in the Philippines.
Every quarter I am in the PI about 60 days and the USA for about 30.
I spent a few months there in the USAF ...keep in touch with some friends there. Interesting Gun laws...My friend has a M14...till recent years it was easy to own a MG...in like 2015 they added more background checks and it became harder to own. Their new Prez is a take no BS guy from what I hear...if your a dope dealer you get shot.... and ..well we both know how the PI legal system works.... " Capt that drug dealer was killed in a duck hunting accident" ... Love the place.

Yeah, Duterte is definitely "all business" No complaints from me. I've met him a couple times when he visits our plant (Armscor/RIA). He's a straight shooter - pun intended. Duck hunting accidents should happen more frequently.

I also spent time at Clark in '85. Today it's a civilian airport and Commercial business complex. The hospital and most all the buildings are still there, but like Subic, they don't maintain it very well. Great people!!

Another, man I'd be thrilled if I could find one locally. I've looked at every gun shop I can find and have struck out constantly.

The 15 has arrived back from H&M with its new black nitride finish. I like the looks and durability of the the black nitride treatment. Just waiting for the brushed bronze Tyler T adapter. Should make a great shooter/carry piece.

Special thanks to Steve Anderson (exchipy) and H&M.

Beautiful. I'm a big fan of the less shiny finishes. You're going to enjoy that one for many years.
Good shootin',

Thanks Doug, me too. Don't like the painted finishes, but black nitriding is a totally different metal treatment - same or similar to DW's Duty Treat, which I have on a few of their 1911s and love it. The stuff is bomb proof.

The original bluing was still nice, only showing a little character from years of service, but I've been looking for a revolver as a guinea pig for a full black nitride face lift. I've had H&M do 1911 barrels, the cylinder on my 627-5, etc, but never the entire revolver. I am very happy with the final product. H&M is a great outfit!

Is the 2" model 15 a hard to find configuration? There's been one at a local gun shop for several months. Can't remember the price right now but I remember thinking it was to high so I never handled it. I guess I may need to have a look at it.

Not exactly rare, but not the most common either. I think they were a fairly popular option for detectives and other plainclothesmen back in the days when the 4" M15 rode in most LEO holsters.
