Got an M&P Shield 40...love it. Also a Sig 229 in 9mm and a Beretta 92 in 9mm. Thinking of picking up a Shield in 9mm. Help me justify it to the voice in my head...

Always listen to the voices in your head, otherwise they get angry.

Of course you need it! When the world as we know it ends, it will be to your great advantage to have both a 9mm and a 40 cal. This will allow you to rummage through the burned out buildings searching for ammo and rewarding when you find "either" one. Just think how bad it will be if your don't have the 9mm and happen upon a large cache of 9mm ammo. . .what will you do with all that un-needed ammo. Definitely buy it.

Forgot to mention that you won't be carrying your Sig or Beretta. . .only your 2 Shields!

Get it, because you know you're going to get rid of that 40 sooner or later. The 9mm Shield will be there to take its place.

You are familiar with the Shield 40 . . . the Shield 9 will be the same . . . if you carry either, you'll not have to remember the idiosyncrasies of the others you have . . and . . .it will allow you to carry in whatever caliber you have ammo for . . . works for me!

Your Shield 40 is lonely and needs a mate !!! :O ALso it is easier to ask the wife for forgiveness in buying another gun then permission :O

I first went out & bought a Shield 9, then I went out & bought a shield 40... Now I have the problem of deciding which one to carry..

They are both that good!

And don't forget the Shield 9 MM rated extremely well in the Guns&Ammo single stack 9 test. Can't go wrong with the looks either.

NEED has little to do with it, WANT is a different problem

I don't have one 9mm, instead I have several. Over a dozen, including two Shields. Variety is the spice of life. At least if you buy the same model gun you will not need a new holster.
