As the title says, do "we" still like 3" J-frame revolvers? This is the last of the 3 "binge" revolvers I bought a few weekends ago.
It is a 3" Model 37, or "Chief's Special Lightweight," from the "roaming/floating J" era around 1971/2. It came with the original box and instruction sheet. Condition is pretty good with some usual wear on the high spots. Someone also put some bright orange paint on the front sight ramp. Doesn't look like much firing wear (recoil shield, chamber, bore). Has a Tyler T-grip, too.
When I looked at this when it arrived at my dealer, I was concerned that it might have been refinished, based on the S&W logon on the left side of the frame. See how it is washed out or lightly struck in the middle?
I don't think it is refinished, though. Just a poorly struck logo.
Here posing with its younger brother...a 1975 Model 36.
Any and all comments are welcome!
