Do you believe?

Of course I believe in aliens, there are lots of videos of them crossing our fence and the Rio Grande river. However the stunning part is they all are only going in one direction.

On a more serious note, I can tell you that I have listened to some very smart people and seen a few things I cannot explain. One that happened to me was back in 1998 when I was on my way home from work about midnight and it was one heck of a snowstorm. I remember seeing something, heck I don't know what it was, over the highway and I can see it plain as I recall it now. It was lit up pretty good and I have never seen anything like it before or since. I had a CB radio in my pickup and every truck driver within sight of this thing was shouting like crazy because none of them knew what it was either. Was it an alien, I don't know, can't tell you. All I know is the thing was huge it was standing still and it was snowing to darn near blizzard conditions so I can't imagine any helicopter out in that mess and down that low. I remember the thing to me had the shape just like the wooden triangle used to rack up billiard balls and it was lit up big time. Who knows, but I can tell you I think with the smarts some of the ancient civilizations had, the Aztecs, the Mayans, the Egyptians, and a few others I really think they had some help. I mean think about it you have people out there now who can't figure out Legos without a computer, the pyramids and other great wonders were built with no power tools let alone the engineering skills to design them. To me there is just too much info from too many credible people out there to say otherwise. Also the fact of the sightings in places of note like Stonehenge and Jerusalem among others. All one has to do it look at some of the images the big telescopes like the Hubble have picked up and it gives you an idea how small we really are in the grand scheme of things. I think God definitely made this planet, but I don't think he made us alone.

It's a good thing we got these guys!!:D:rolleyes::eek:

Non believers, watch the red light please!;)

I don't know if "they" exist, but do know that I seen something
in the early 80's, that, to this day, I can't figure out what it was.

At the time, a close friend had his own, small, commercial air service and I spent a
lot of time helping him, either in the air, or doing things around the airport,
both day & night. Whatever I seen that night didn't look like anything that
I had seen, before or since. On top of that, it was BIG & quiet.

Being the logical sort, I figured that there had to be a logical explanation so I never
called anybody that night. The next day I found this article interesting reading.
The location reported in the article is about 2 miles from where I seen "it."

To this day, one of the biggest regrets in my life was not
driving right up to it, which I could have easily done.

I am 100% sure there is life and intelligent life on other planets. I am equally sure that, unless they have found a way to violate the laws of physics, as we know them, that none of them have been here to visit this planet. In simplest terms, no one travels 10,000 miles to get something that is readily available locally. Why would any intelligent being waste the time and energy interstellar travel requires to obtain the same chemical elements they already have? Beyond the laws of physics, economic sense also proscribes interstellar "shopping".

There was also a great comic in the paper this morning. The observation was made that with all the cell phone cameras available now you would think there would be a lot more UFO pictures circulating.

Gas Giant?

We have an invisible shield that protects us from visitors.

The "I Love Lucy" show was not on cable. It was radiated out into space (using high wattage antenna's) with all other electromagnetic radiation. It was radiated out beginning in the early 1950's and is now over 60 light years away in all directions.
It and "The Honeymooners" will cause nausea and anxiety to any advanced civilization with bigger brains. They will turn away and declare this end of the universe contaminated.

However the Incas did welcome the Conquistadores with open arms not knowing they were carrying smallpox?

Real aliens would be from smoggy contaminated planets with cable communications. (Like the planet Jupiter?). They would need to be born here in order to survive our high oxygen low gravity situation. They would infiltrate our scientists and get Jupiter called a "gas giant". Even though every scientist knows every gas compresses into a liquid or solid. High gravity gas giant is a contradiction in terms ha ha ha we have been fooled again.
(A little "Twilight Zone" music please maestro)

I believe in aliens, like David LaPell said. You can see them often on contruction sites and doing lawn work. I believe in UFOs, too. I just don't believe UFOs are piloted by aliens. I think we (humans) are the highest life form in all the universe, period.

I decided to come back to this thread and offer up what I truly believe as this is my ultimate favorite topic. I apologize for the length of this post so please humor me!

As stated above in my first post, my family and I enjoy using our 12" reflector (a beast to lug around) and our 4" refractor telescopes to view the heavens above. For those that have never taken a peek through a good telescope at a deep space target, I will tell you right up front that what you see might be disappointing after looking at photos taken with long exposure times. In most instances, what you see will be relatively small and colorless because our eyes and brain aren't quick enough to see the color. The picture below is of the Andromeda Galaxy which, at 1.2 million light years, is the closest to our Milky Way Galaxy. This galaxy can actually be seen with the naked eye or binoculars on a good night with a stable atmosphere. The "light" or what you are actually seeing actually left the galaxy traveling at the speed of light (186 thousand miles per second) and it has taken 1.2 million years to reach us here on earth. Taking into account the laws of physics, the viewer is actually seeing the past or looking back at what the galaxy looked like 1.2 million years ago. The "actual view" may be quite different now if you were actually in close proximity to the galaxy, (let's say 1 light year away). If a being is living at the opposite side of the Andromeda galaxy and is staring back at us through whatever it is they use to do so, our galaxy will look entirely different to them than what it looks like to those of us that call it home. To me, that's almost more than my miniscule human brain can fathom.

Now, only a tiny number of galaxies are visible to us here on earth but a supercomputer simulation recently said that there could be as many as 500 billion galaxies in our universe with each having hundreds of billions of stars. So, if you want to do the math, you will plainly see that there are actually countless possibilities that some type of life exists out there somewhere. Actually, the mathematical and scientific odds are much greater that there is than isn't.

Do I believe that beings from another world have visited this speck in time that we call home? Truthfully, without physical proof, I don't have a clue. I do however believe its a completely possible concept because good people do see things now and then beyond the realm of human thinking. I believe that there is a strong possibility that others may have been here in the past and that at times, continue to "pass by". Its not a stretch of the imagination when one considers the vastness of the universe to believe that there are beings out there much older than the human race that have learned to cross vast distances using black holes, transformation theories, time travel or any other sci-fi method of traveling - things we humans are only now starting to understand.

No, I don't claim to be an expert at anything but I do "look up", read and imagine alot while I try to make a little sense to myself as to what could, can, or does go on "out there". One being that always pops into my thoughts of the universe and REALLY makes me wonder is God. Try to figure that one out - what kind of being must God really be if He can create the vastness and objects we can only glimpse in the night sky? We, the human race that seemingly can't do anything right, have no clue what's really out there. We have no idea what God's total package entails and we never will as long as we're constrained by our miniscule human minds.

I'll close by saying that anyone that seeks answers need only look up and let your imagination take it from there :) !

By the way, some of the closed minded statements made above simply amaze me. If we are indeed the highest form of life in the vast universe, the Creator made a REALLY BIG MISTAKE! I'll stop there!

I have never seen a extraterrestrial being but have seen UFO's on two occasions for sure. The first was on a family vacation to Colorado in the late 1950's. My entire family and at least half a dozen other carloads of people were stopped on the highway in a canyon outside of Lake City watching five brightly lit discs zooming back and forth overhead. This display went on for quite a while before they just shot straight up and disappeared. My father was a licensed pilot BTW.
The second time my wife and I were laying on a remote beach in western Mexico just star gazing. This was in 1964 and spotting a satellite was a new experience for us and I pointed out to her what I thought was one of them, when it stopped, reversed direction several times, and ultimately sped away, disappearing over the horizon in an instant. I consider myself to be a keen and careful observer and absolutely know what I saw.

I seen something that is hard to explain. It was a cold winter night around 1953 in wisconsin. I and my cousin susan were both about 12 and were sleding down the road on the hill I lived on. What I seen was like a small bright moon. It was staionary, not moveing. There also was the moon in a differant area. It looked like a huge bright spotlight. All the sudden it went out like a lightswitch and after a short while, maybe 10 secounds it would come on again completely stationary in another part of the sky. I lived on top a hill overlooking our village. It done this maybe 3 or 5 times.
I hadnt seen my cousin in almost 40 years. I ran into her after I retired on a trip back home. She also had just retired off the milwaukee PD. I asked her if she remembered that UFO the same way I did and she remembered it the same as me.
I would normaly say I dont belive in ufo`s, but all the same I seen what I seen.

I believe if we knew all there was to know, our feeble minds couldn't handle it.

The One I believe in overcomes time, space and matter. ;)

No, we are not alone, not by any stretch of the imagination.
