I try to stay out of places that I get good deals on. I don't want to run into something that I can't do without.
do you shop when broke?

I might paw something I don't intend to buy just to get a good look in case I might buy later. But I never ask for a final price unless I am buying. Then I just tell the dealer I am interested in buying and what is his best price. If I go to an antique show and my wife ask to look at an object, I might as well just write out the check as she usually doesn't look unless she has already made her decision.
