Went over to the Dodge dealer and saw drop dead gorgeous 2014, 1500 Laramie Limited ..

I have a 2013 1500 sport I got in April. Hemi, 8 sp torqueflite, nav etc. my last 3 trucks were GM. Ram 1500 is a great truck.

I have a 05 model with HEMI, 110,000 mikes and reliable despite one deer hit. It's on its second set of tires, had to have the power steering fluid container replaced, and a few minor repairs that in my opinion were due to wear and tear.
And it still runs like a scalded cat too!!:)

I looked at a 2013 F-150XLT, and wasn't impressed with the inside for an extended cab. It had no under the rear seat storage, nor a middle compartment under the one in the front, no fold out floor either plus the center console was a lift up affair that was half the size of my old 05!

They're good solid trucks, and the HEMI will handle whatever you throw at it! MOPAR OR NO CAR!

I've owned one Chevy truck and several Fords in my life time. Nine years ago, I went to a Dodge. Granted, it's not a 1500. It's a 2500 diesel, six speed manual, 4x4.

But...I'll tell you this, in my opinion, once you go to a Dodge, you'll never go back.

I'm a Chevy man, so I don't know much about Dodge.
My wife's uncle drives a 2005 Dodge 4x4. He bought it used 5 years ago, and he hasn't had any trouble with it with over 100k on it.

A guy at work (I think it was last year) had gone out and bought a brand-new Ford pickup. He had it about 2 months and hated it, so then he went and traded it in on a new Dodge, and he hasn't looked back.

I hate to say it, but after the GM bailout, I'm considering looking elsewhere for my next truck. :(

I do not personally own a newer Dodge ..but my friend has a 2012 1500 4x4, has nothing but good things to say about it.

bought a used 2000 1500 a couple years ago. other than routine things happening. Awesome truck. I have had Ford, Chevy and now Dodge. If you take care of it, It will take care of you. If you like the way it looks, drives, can afford it then go for it.

1996 Ram 1500 4x4 312 cu. in.

Older than the ones mentioned thus far....

I bought this 1500 new in January of 1996. A year ago my son and one of his friends gave it a face lift.

It is on engine #2, transmission #2, starter motor #3, radiator #2, etc., etc. I've never had any problems with the transfer case or anything related to the 4-wheel drive

But, it has 240,000+ miles on it.

My only complaint is rust bubbles around both rear wheel wells and the rear bumper is rusting bad. Mine is an 04 and the rust started in 08...might try a different brand next time

I hadn't owned a Chrysler product in a long time. In 2011..I bought the woman a slightly used 2010 Challenger V6. Has been a great car. So I go looking for a short-wide Ram 1500 on the used market..and buy a 2008 Ram 1500 with 40,000 miles on it..I buy an extended warranty as well.

The 'Dodge/Ram' 1500 has been good...I would rate it excellent except the rear axel had to be rebuilt with less than 45,000miles on it(cost me a $100 at the dealer thanx to my purchased warranty).

The truck's been fine otherwise...runs and drives like a dream...the 2008 still had conventional leaf-spring rear suspension and it ain't the smoothest ride. Has the 4.7 flex-fuel engine which has good power and fair fuel economy.

Most of the transmission issues Chrysler has experienced the last decade or so revolves around the type of trans-fluid used...top-off the transmission fluid with the wrong stuff and you got problems..use the correct fluid and they are fine.

Dodge Rams are about as cheap and cheesy as the competitor's trucks..I've owned all the domestic brands and buy what brands I have local dealerships with good techs so repair and support isn't an issue(this leaves Ford out as the local Ford dealership's ford-techs stink)

I bought a 2001 Ram 1500 in October of 2000. It's my farm truck and it has been reliable and problem free. If I bought another truck today, it would be a Ram.

I had a new 2007 Dodge Ram Hemi Quad Cab 4x4. I leased it. Drove it for about 2-1/2 years. Loved it. No problems. Of course...they're all nice when they're new. Drive a GMC Sierra now.

I've got a 2010 1500 in the garage, it's been great, and power wise, it's great to let the big dogs run when you need it! I like mine, no issues...

I have been driving Dodges since 83 my first two were 1500's, in 92 I bought my first Dakota had it 10 years put 462K miles on it, sold it to a friend who still has it, then I bought 2002 Dakota and had it until 2011 put 383 K on that one, now I have 2011 Dakota, they stopped making them, this one should last me forever.:)
Oh I forgot to mention, I never had any real problems with any of them, I live on the ocean and didn't have any rust problems either.

I drive a GMC, but won't buy another as long as they're Government Motors. Nothing against Dodge/Ram trucks, but I won't buy a Chrysler product long as Fiat owns them. Kinda narrows down my choices for a new truck to Ford or one of the Japanese pick-ups. Guess I'll nurse the old Sierra as long as I can.

Buy it. I've worked at a Dodge dealer for 12 years and as long as you take care of them they are tough as nails. Even Consumer Reports like the Dodge. The only thing I don't like about them is they are a little tall so go with dealer installed running boards. You'll be glad you did. Any accessories you want do before you pickup the vehicle. You can usually barter them down on the pricing and they will be covered by the full warranty.
