Product: Model 442
Does this model have the lock?
Hows the DA trigger pull? Is the PC version better then the standard trigger pull?
Whats a fair price for them? My local dealer quoted me $520 plus tax. It seems high.....but I'm not certain

Thanks

Hi Brian. You are referring to the 442 PC variant with stainless cylinder produced for Chattanooga Shooting Supplies. I have 2 of these. Another member refers to these as the "Choo Pinto" model.

In no specific order, there is NO keylock. The trigger pull is definitely NOT superior to a standard model, IMO. On one of my Choo Pintos, the double action 'fatigued' or for want of a better term, simply died. It is in the shop awaiting repair. The sideplate screws work loose during range sessions, and while some say this is normal and acceptable, it is not IMO. The grips are easy to change out.

Your quoted price was in line when the model first appeared last winter, but I believe it has come down recently. Perhaps it is not selling as well as expected. Shop around a bit. This model is OK, but only just. I'm a little disappointed. It certainly does not meet the quality of my other PC J-frames. Up to you. Good luck and good shooting.

I have one and carry it every day.

I thought the trigger was a little better out of the box when I got it than a new 442/642.

Got rid of the clip grip deal and went with a pair of the UM boot grips.

It was not as smooth as the 642 it replaced that I had shot and carried for 16+ years.

Got mine at Buds for the $399 price and with transfer fee had about $420 or so into it.

Thanks for the info guys. I decided on a standard no lock 442. I liked the PC version but my dealer gave me a good deal on a 442 he had in stock.
Thanks
