Because there isn't a key hole on the passenger side. I guess this is the one time it could be convenient? Probably not.

So what you're saying is that you always open the door??

I've sat in restaurants and watched the guy open the door and walk in in front of their wife who's carrying the little one.

I was taught to open doors. Later, I worked as a doorman at a hotel and was thus "paid" to do this.

I do take time to hold doors as appropriate. However, I generally don't do the car door if the lady is driving her own vehicle.

I always at least try to open the doors, walk on the curb side on a street and help the Lady on and off of their coats. But with my wife, I generally get the "I can get it myself" with the car doors but the rest I can still do.
