One of my favorites is when the person in the left lane puts his right turn signal on and then cuts across 3 lanes of traffic onto the exit-ramp.
definitely a white knuckle / butt puckering experience !!!

No thanks man, I learned a long time ago that you're WAY better off not to mess with cops. You want to do something about it you call the precinct and lodge a complaint citing the car number, time and location. That way even if he gets your name the cop can't put a face or a vehicle with that name - unless he already knows you.

If that's the case you're probably already screwed anyway....

You don't know my sister. Also, it IS harassment and the policeman CAN get into seriously deep and smelly cesspool-if he harasses you and especially if you are friendly with any Judge. I'm still friends with a couple around here.

And a PS, you DONT have to be friends with a Judge to begin with-but it CAN help. If you have nothing to hide? you aint got a thing to worry about. The police CANT, hassle you for pointing out THEIR bad behavior-which ive done on occasion over the years-and I'm no longer in L.E. and haven't been in since mid 2001.

Here in Iowa, it's against the "culture" to use a turn signal to indicate the driver's intent to turn. My wife and I make a game of spotting idiots who first slow up, then put on the brakes start the turn and THEN flip on the turn signal. We moved here from other states and wonder what they teach in drivers ed.?????

When I was in SoCal (San Fernando Valley, Encino in particular), I was baffled by why Mercedes manufacturers never installed turn signals on the cars sold in America.

Here in Wenatchee, stop lights are "discretionary". We also have a "Wenatchee turn"== pulling into a parking lot (or turning right) from the LEFT lane, without signaling (also can be turning left from the RIGHT lane)

The folks in my neck of the woods don't have to use turn signals.....

Ha, that was almost exactly what old "Short Log" Tibbs said when stopped by some upstart State Trooper east of Eagle Butte, South Dakota back in the late 60's for turning off the two-lane heading north to his little ranchito.
I personally asked him about it when I got to know the rascal, in 1973, and he told me that the newly minted Trooper was so flummoxed, he just shook his hand, warned him and let him go.
Old Short Log told him, Well, hell, everybody knows I turn off here. Haha.
Short Log was Casey Tibbs' uncle, and a character that old feller was.

This thread reminds me of the time my dad was trading in my moms car, he was doing his best sales job on the salesman telling him all the good things about her car. He finally said " and the turn signals are like new, they've never been used". It was probably true. By the way, I always use mine but I admit I'm in the minority about that.

I use them all the time. When driving the Gator I use hand signals. In our area it is still not too bad; when someone doesn't it still is a surprise.

Most folks around here move uncertainly - slow, wiggle left-right, then swing way right, brake, put on left turn signal after starting their move into a left turn.
I never figgered out why they need that wide feint to the right before a left turn. Sometimes when I was to their right in the parallel lane, I thought they were going to clip my fender. They can't all be former tractor-trailer drivers. Besides, a Prius or VW bug isn't long enough to warrant that move.

Wish I could figure that one out too. Pretty irritating when you want to pass them on the right, then swing out before making their turn.

No, you should have said something. He cant do anything about it, and if he did? it's harassment. If harassed, go to a Judge and spill the beans, the officer will definitely will stop (unless he is related to the Judge that is? )

My sister caught a cop speeding for no viable reason, chased him down and gave him a "What fer Davy" and he couldn't do a damned thing about it-except to learn to set a better example in public.

A funny story I heard in Indianapolis. During one of their many construction projects a major road (I-65?) was gridlocked every morning. Everyone apparently was on the same morning driving schedule, including a city officer who would flash his lights to force everyone to move over for him and bypass the traffic. He did this every morning, so it was apparent he was NOT responding to a call.

Finally one morning the other drivers got fed up, and when he came up with his lights on, everyone ignored him and refused to move over. He learned his lesson, shut off his lights, and sat in traffic same as everyone else after that.

My wife is very uncertain about where I should turn, I just use my 4-way flashers. People can figure it out.

Just last night I was heading to the Local Big Box Hardware store to pick up plumbing parts.. A tan Toyota Avalon cuts me off from nowhere.. I noticed a rope coming from the back of the trunk lid over the trunk down to under the bumper. One again the driver makes a sudden right turn into said BBS without signaling. I followed into the parking lot and when (she) parked I had to ask her (for the record my wife told me to bite my tongue) Is that string across your trunk to remind you to use your turn signals. With That a merry Christmas followed.

I replaced all fluids in my Jeep this past weekend...
and I found out my blinker fluid was very low! Should work good now.. topped off with fresh fluid!
