Does the name Charles (or Chas) Lampert ring a bell?

I have an M&P 1902 1st change with "CHAS. LAMPERT" engraved in large letters on the left side at an angle below the thumbpiece. I'm sure it was probably the owners name, but maybe he was famous? Or maybe it was a gunsmith or gun seller's mark? My Google-fu is weak today. Maybe somebody knows the name? TIA.

Could be. Might be his dad's. I know it was owned by a man named Jim, who used it as a reserve deputy in the area pre 1955 or so. Jim was my father's friend's uncle and my dad's buddy had the gun from approx. 1955 until he gave it to us last year. I think if it was the owners name he would have probably been the first or second owner. Ser# 61849 puts it at 1903-1904 manufacture. 50 years is alot of time for it to change hands.
