9mm Shield with Crimsontrace.

I have access to a 9mm cartridge style red laser.

If I insert the red laser cartridge and adjust the crimson trace green dot to the red dot,........would this not, in effect zero the crimson trace to the bore ?

I don't know much about this stuff but was wondering why it wouldn't have that effect.

It would align it with the bore, but not to the point of impact due to recoil. If your iron sights are on, align the CT to your sights at 30 to 50 feet.

THAT makes a lot of sense. I have lens implants in both eyes. Focusing on the sights is very difficult for me as lenses are made for distance. I can see the sights with reading glasses on but then the target is blurry. But I can still aim for center mass. The laser gives me something to focus on and use as aim point at distance.

Cartridge lasers for bore sighting are not always accurate. I use a bore sight laser that is fit in the end of the barrel. You can tell if they are right by turning them 360 degrees and if the dot doesn't do a circle on the wall it is centered. If it does do a circle just adjust the sights dot to the center of the circle. Bore sighting is only a way to get you close ti sighted in as you will still need to tweak the adjustments due to you ammo and a few other things. Don

I inserted the cartridge laser today and put the green dot over the red dot. I was surprised at the amount I had to adjust. At 15 feet the green dot was 4 inches lower than the red dot. Going to the range tomorrow to see what effect it had.

Well this didn't work for me and not sure why. I ended up 6 inches low at 25 feet. I looked down the sights and could not see the laser dot. Adjusted the dot up to the front sight and was back to dead nuts. Left/right adjustment was dead on. Lesson learned.
