hello all,
im typing this as fast as i can cause "somebody" wants to go outside and play!
i was typing/ reading some other posts when from behind me i heard a long drawn out AROOROORA WOOWOORA WOOORARA WOOO or something equal to that effect .
he puts me in stiches whenever he does that, sometimes he makes the funniest sounds -i can only guess hes trying to speak english??he got his point across anyway,we are going to go out and play for a while.
how did we go without a dog for so long? my heart is about to burst with pride and love...i guess hes like my second son.
does your dog have a special or funny way of communicating with you?

Yes! If she wants something from the table and i say "no" she starts arguing and its not a bark. Something of a groan but with different pitches ......like she's talking

My dog usually stares at me until I prompt him with words. He knows quite a few and will hop up or start wagging his tail like crazy when you say the one he wants.

Huskies are known for "talking back"

Lady at the dog park had one that would say "I love you" on command.

Two of our three labs make a sigh and grunt when they're content, which is usually when they're laying on me in some way that restricts my breathing and blocks the TV. OP, that is a beautiful dog you have there.

Our Lab Sophie makes similar growls (AROOROORA WOOWOORA WOOORARA WOOO) as yours whenever she wants her kibbles or her obviously deserved treat for her poo call or going out to get the mail with me.

Be careful how you answer this question. Someone will likely try to use this in your mental fitness hearing on whether your guns should be taken from you.

"This man thinks his dog talks to him! Surely he's unfit to hold a firearm"

My labs have me well trained. If Jake, the big dog, is at the door barking, it means "theres a big storm comin and l want in NOW!!!" If Buddy is barkin in the back yard it means "theres a ditch critter out here that l want to eat..." When they're both in on the kitchen floor and snoring loudly, it means "we're sound asleep leave us alone"... and the most important sounds of all... about 6 each mornin... many low rumbling and kinda growling kinda whining sounds coming from their crates... "We want out side we gotta PEEEEEE!!!!"

I have not named the last half dozen dogs I've owned. I get them and then refuse to call them anything, until one day they tell me what their name is.

Does that count?

My sweet little Main Coon cat talks to me all the time. It's probably a good thing we're sure of is that it's not all nice.;):D

sure that counts...you gotta sound a little funny when you are calling your dogs though? here "bark, bark, bark" or come on "woof, woof" or here "new puppy ,who has yet to be named";)

TALKING DOGS

I have 2 bro & sis French Brittany's, different as night and day. the male has been a talker since we got him. the female is the brains of the family including me. but on her 13th birthday she has started doing this teeth chattering type noise when begging, precisely starting on her 13th birthday. plus we have about 2 pages of words that we have to spell, and they are figuring some of those out now. plus they howl when one of our vehicles pulls into the driveway, just our cars. sometimes we all have a good group howl, me the wife and dogs. she is now trying to train me to hold the doggie door open for her. my wife says I'm whipped, guess so.

My former shepard and hound mix would often talk to the wife - he would say mom-ma. I heard it many times and it was very understandable.

We used to have a Dobbie who would come find my wife at feeding time if more then a few minutes late. (I never found where she hid her watch, but she must have had one) And I swear she was saying "Mom...mom....mom."
