Don't You Just Love Reloading?

I haven't started yet, but my reloading equipment is on the way. I am very excited to get into reloading!!!! I am also looking forward to be able to shoot more because of the savings.

I used to love reloading. After nearly 40yrs & well over 300k rds, 25 diff calibers, it's become a necessary evil. It's why I have two progressives. I want to load my weekends worth of ammo in less than 30min.
I do enjoy playing with new calibers, casting & coating bullets, even swaging my own 223, but if I had to reload 1000rds a month on even a turret, I wouldn't have time to do the other stuff. I enjoy reaching reloading more than doing it anymore.

This is more or less where my car is parked too.
There's some days where I can really get into it and rain ammo all day, but those days come with far less frequency than they did 15 - 20 years ago.

The biggest side benefit to re-loading is that when you find a gun of a new caliber that is expensive to shoot factory ammo. It's not a problem just get some dies and brass and new gun comes home..

It's pure evil really..:D

And don't forget the exotic flights of fancy with wildcats, and obscure calibers.

Re-loading is my least favorite part of the sport but it is a necessary part to be able to shoot as often as I do without having to be ripped off or scrounging for ammo of the exact type that I like to use for each particular gun.

A few years back I upgraded to a Dillon 650 (from a Square Deal B) and it made the whole process a whole lot less tedious and almost fun.

I like it a lot more after switching from plain lead to powder coated lead. Cleaner dies, cleaner guns, cleaner hands.

I also find loading .45 auto more fun than .357 these days.

i also cast all my pistol boolits and also some rifles i use cast in. i have several so called obsolete rifle cal. i use. one of my favorites is my model 8 Remington's. i have 4 here is one in action, this is a 32 rem.

i aint hurting, i got a little. and oh yes i love handloading, since 1967 i have rolled my share....

Like the old A and A2 presses. You is old skool.Got a few of them too

I believe I shoot so I can reload. For me Handloading is the most satisfying hobby associated with guns, well mebbe except for getting that 1" group outta my Garand I keep trying for...

I shoot the same amount, reloading only allows me to shoot cheaper. Time dictates my shooting, cost, not so much.

Me too. The slight increase ins hooting I have been doing is only to verify the batches and loads are coming out right. I loaded 1000 .38 rounds last summer, and I gotta have at least 500 of them left. I'm starting on my next batch of 1000 and doubt I'll even shoot them until next summer.

Here in Nevada it gets pretty cold and there are times when we have to
go into snow country to find our game.

Gloves are needed and I have one rifle that I use for cold weather hunting.
I have no problems shooting with nice big warm gloves on with this
revised rifle. One just has to learn to be a little more aware at what
is going on and be a tad safer out in the field or at the rifle range. ( per post #12 )
