Currently on Houston's Collectors Firearms' website they have a "Dummy" Model 58. Have any of you ever heard of such a mockup? I Know there are models made for holster mfg. but have never seen anything like this. I am interested in hearing your thoughts on this. All my best, Joe.

As made & marked by S&W?,,or as modified & marked aftermarket for training purposes by L/E or Security, perhaps a theatrical prop, or for ownership in strict areas where non-firing handgun(s) don't require licenses,,,

Training firearms are usually colored in some manner to easily and quickly distinguish them.
With no serial number on this one & 'dummy' stamped in it's place,,I wonder just what the insides look like.

Not a real trick to modify a working revolver to the nonfiring condition this one is presented in.
With no ser#, this one should have not been a working revolver to begin with.

Just some thoughts.

Boys,

My favorite LGS has a Dummy model 58. It is marked "Dummy" on the butt where serial # would normally be. Cylinder does not open and action does not cycle. I have never seen one of these. $1500 is asking price. This could be , truly , an unfired safe queen for those that don't like to shoot their guns. It looks and feels just like the real thing. Ya'll seen any of these?

Regards

Bill
