DWM 1902 Carbine - 7.65mm ~ S/N 50100

Thanks for the additional information. I work at FT Sam Houston, located in San Antonio and at the museum they have a Luger with the stock that is similar to yours.

I was in the vicinity trying to get an access badge to a building but the worker closed early due to a parade he had march in. I rushed the visit to the museum to get back to the office only to find out the General was so happy that soldiers could march in step, he gave them all the rest of the day off!!

I got to go back next Monday so I will see if the museum curator would take some close up pictures, the gun is in a big glass box right now.

I have been to the Ft. Sam museum a couple of times, most recently about 10 years ago. They were most helpful in providing some information for a historical presentation I was making. They had some interesting stuff there, but I don't remember the seeing that Luger.

I don't know how difficult it is to get onto Ft. Sam these days, as I no longer have my civilian DoD ID to get through the gates.

One observation about the ejection of spent cartridges: if I hold the pistol perfectly level the spent case will hit me in the head as it returns to earth, if I cant it one way or the other the case will hit to the side. While it can be distracting for some, for me it is a meaningful resource to evaluate my technique.

My observation of the ejection of spent cartridges has been made with other Lugers I own. This one I have not fired.
