EDCC: (Every Day Car Carry)
What do you keep/carry in your car or truck?

After 8+ years of driving a Corvette, and never intentionally going off-road, I changed out Vette #4 for Jeep #5; a '15 Cherokee Trailhawk. AZ has tons of fire roads and lots of spots to explore & photograph. Once back in a Jeep again I decided to stock the center console with a few EDC items:

My trusty Shield 9/laser, spare mag, Spyderco Embassy Auto, and a S&W Cree (175 lumen - 2xAA - $18.99!) flashlight… all of which goes in pockets when leaving the 4X4. (rocks do not go in console or pockets)

I realize all states are NOT like AZ and what is legal to take in a vehicle will vary wildly. Anyhow, post up what you deem necessary for close-at-hand items you carry on the road (or off).

That's just too darn much. The Ram is loaded with several different items at all times, i.e. first aid kit, knives, hatchet, shovels, towing stuff, electrical connectors, 100mph tape, etc. and I still feel it's not enough. I recently ordered a cb-radio for it and will install it next weekend or so.

Firearms wise it depends on where we go. Usually it's a 9mm or .38Spl but if we go into the woods (camping, fishing, etc) it will be a .45. Of course with plenty of ammo ;)

Jorge, you are 100% right on off-road equipment to carry. I should have narrowed it to "protection" equipment. I too carry the tow strap, CB, shovel, etc... but those stay IN the Jeep when I step out into the wild.

Gloves,tow strap,rope,short shovel,a few hand tools,flash light,tp,case of water,fishing gear,warm clothes,snowshoes,a box of 22s and 45s,gauze and duct tape.

I don't think I'd take those rocks with me! ;)

I know you're talking about the center console, but I always have an entrenching tool in the back of my Jeep.

But for camping and fishing it's a .45 :)

I (almost) never take my gun off in the car. Occasionally it may happen that I have to go into a post office or something but otherwise it's on me. The only things I carry in my car are jumper cables, roll of paper towel and toilet paper (I once sat in 10hr traffic and saw as people trued to go to the bathroom). Set of gloves

This Beretta 92FS is what is usually gets tossed in my vehicle. I found this holster at a gun show for $10 bucks, with the extra mag pouch it gives me access to 37 rounds of 9mm.

My EDCC depends on where I'm going, and what I expect to be doing. If I'm headed out in a 4x4 expecting to do a little hiking and sightseeing, I'll be carrying a .357 magnum with 2 speed loaders, bear spray, and an optional long gun stashed in the cab. If I'm hanging around town or headed out on a road trip in our Vette, a subcompact 9mm with a couple of reloads and OC spray will do nicely. If I'm riding motorcyles, my Model 60 tucks nicely inside a Nemesis pocketed in my jacket. The piece of equipment that gets the most use of all my gear is my SAK.

I don't normally venture too far from home so it's my M&P .380, extra mag, cell phone, wallet & keys. My truck and car both have an extra mag for the .380 so that's total of 19 rounds, just in case.
UPDATE: Last week I scored a 340PD so I've gone back to carrying a revolver w/one speed strip on me with three speed loaders in my truck and two more speed strips & one speed loader in my wife's car. I just feel more comfortable w/a revolver and the 340PD is lighter than the M&P .380.

GEEZ... I'm gonna sound like one of those paranoid types I guess. G19 again, or G17, 2 spares on the belt. Happy sticks in the center console of any vehicle we own. For work there's an Anderson Mfg. AR in the trunk with a re-load or 2, 442 strong side front pocket, ZT folder in cargo pocket, Spyderco in back, Streamlight pro-tac 1, couple of cuff keys, beef jerky, cliff bar, bottle of water, and can NOT leave home without a big diet coke... ok, reading this even I think I need to lighten the load out.

keys, pocket knife, zippo ( because im still one of those evil smokers) and a small handgun. NO PHONE! i dont need to be "connected" 24/7 and i most likely dont want to talk to ya anyway
