On the Road Runner/Wiley Coyote cartoons the Coyote would take black gunpowder and pour a small amount on the ground making a long trail up to a keg of powder or some dynamite and then the trail would burn slowly like a fuse. So when I was kid I bought some black powder from JC Penny and poured a big pile on my driveway and then made a long trail of gunpowder up to the pile to act as a fuse. I lit the fuse and that big pile flared up instantly burning off some of my eyebrows and nose hairs and singeing the hair on the front of my face. I'll tell you one thing you never know how much you appreciate your nose hairs until you loose them. For a week every time I took a breath it felt like compressed air was shot up my nose.
