There should be a Testors model paint in fluorescent green.

I went to Wally World, of course looked at all the empty shelves without a single bullet on them, then headed over to the finger nail polish isle. They had 2 or 3 greens that were close.

I found the florescent green and red/orange nail polish I used on my sights at a local Meijer's store in a combination pen/brush bottle for nail art.

But the best dark antique metallic gold nail polish that I like for the engravings was found at a Dollar store. Hard to beat the price. ;)

Gunmetal gray on the slide, and barrel, bright orange on the front sight.

I prefer Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme wear nail polish.
Wait, you mean for the M&P? Oh, I don't really have a preference then.
;)

Actually found it to fill in better with lighter coats, against the grain. Let it quick dry and then non-acetone nail polish on a cotton ball. Let that dry and repeat. I think I have 4 coats on this and my M&P bodyguard. After 6-7 range trips and cleaning cycles, still looks like the day I did it.

I notice you have a KKM barrel. How do you like it?
I've got a couple and love them.

BTW, I asked Brian at KKM what twist rate they use. I've seen several on here that appear different than what I got from the source.

Honestly, I don't notice a lot of difference between it and the factory barrel. I hate saying that and my "manly pride" would like to justify the cost, but I call em like I see em.;) Maybe if I was worried about "group size" or did bullseye shooting at long distance I would see a difference, but I shoot USPSA and Steel Challenge so speed is my primary focus (along with hitting the "A" zone:D.)

To get the best fluorescent green look.. Do a coat of white first. It really helps make it pop.

I went to Wally World yesterday and bought several bottles of nail polish when I couldn't find what I wanted in my wife's cache. 55 year old man with a beard buying nail polish. That brought some looks. Found one Loreal that came really close to OD green. Put it on my Shield and Glock 34. Looks sweet!

Not as strange as a 55 year old man with a beard with flourescent green toe nails. But hey-this is America damnit and I'll defend to my death your right to do so.:D

I have to ask this question. What's with the nail polish? I thought part of the appeal on the plastic guns was the all black look.

Well, it's kinda like giving Angus a brand new dog bed-perfect in every way. But he ain't happy with it until he scrunches it all up-throws up on it and chews a hole in the corner. Then it's his. Or boats-it ain't truly "yours" until you drill a couple of extra holes in it for whatever.
Same thing with guys and their guns.
