Yesterday, at my local gun range, I casually asked about how many rounds has gone through that MP-15 retal (same type I own) he said 200,000. Went on and asked if there were any major fixes; the guy said “the only thing we’ve had I guess is that recently the bolt-assembly broke in two but that’s it”

whether it is the chrome lined or the melonite barrel, that was all I was getting at I wasnt trying to cause any trouble or offend anyone!

The different models within the M&P 15 rifle family use different barrels. Some are Melonite treated. Some are hard chrome lined. They have different twist rates.

The next time you're at the rental counter, please try and get the model of M&P 15-Rifle. I'm curious as to which barrel has held up to the abuse.

Did they say it still shoots true?
