Well,
Sat down in front of the TV, watching football and cleaning some rifles. As I am cleaning the bolt of my well used 15-22 I notice the firing pin is protruding from the bolt face slightly. Thinking the firing pin channel may be gunked up, I press the pin back in. Then push from the back and it wont retract back in again......
OH NO,,,,,,I broke it. 21,750 rounds fired and I broke the firing pin. Not bad really, considering. But I'm a little bummed that my current favorite rifle is down.
Knew something was up, started have fail to feed issues and assumed it was just filthy. (well it was
)
Guess it's time to give S&W CS a jingle and get a replacement. No, they don't last forever, but it has been a real performer up to this point and will be again once the new firing pin is installed.
