Thanks for the info

Try a pair of these S&W factory J frame target stocks. They are made with or w/o checkering:

I looked on the S&W site, but the only J frame grips they list are for the round butt revolvers. From the pic of butt types, my revolver matched the square. The only grips shown for square, are what I have now.
I'll see if Customer Support can help.

Update: looked on E-Bay and found a set (one piece) of Pachmayr grips for a J-frame square butt $30 + shipping.
Now I'll see how they work. Should receive by Tuesday 5/6.

Thanks

Hondo 44: Glad you like those grips on my 60-4, lost that image I'm glad you used it.

Love that gun! Thx for acknowledging it, I lost track of whose it was. Now I attached your name to it in my post.

Yours prompted me to get this 60-4, but yours must be earlier; it has CCH hammer and trigger.

Today, I got a bit ambitious and decided to bead blast my 640-1 as it had gotten a scratch or two over time. I ended up using aluminum oxide instead of glass beads because that was what my friend had in his blaster. I also like the grey color a little better than the silver.

I also added my 340 Sc that has a fresh KG Guncote titanium finish and the titanium cylinder in place of the SS one. 640 before and after; 340 after and before (got them backwards)

Let me know, what you think. [emoji6]

Let me know what you think!

I think it's a beautiful gun.
Are those overseas proofs on the bbl & frame?
I really like the early square cylinder release!
Can you tell us a bit about the history if you know it?
Nice.
