Sevens, It is the CSP that is a two tone but the OP's gun is not one of them. It looks like thisLet’s not forget that S&W did indeed make a two-tone commemorative 39-2, going by memory without running a search I want to say it was Connecticut State Police. Probably late 1970’s.
Don’t know if this is that however a two-tone factory original 39-2 does indeed exist.
CSP came out in 1979 as a commemorative; 700 made (BUT, there's a problem with that*) and of which I have two; nickel slide/blue frame (or was that a nickel slide and blue frame? Nah, I'm certain it was a nickel slide and blue frame and I care not what Cougar sez; and now my brain is hurting). Ramp front sight has a red insert. The CSP commemorative ("CSP" was the leading three-letter alpha for serial numbers) was the only Model 39 or 39-2 commemorative.Let’s not forget that S&W did indeed make a two-tone commemorative 39-2, going by memory without running a search I want to say it was Connecticut State Police.
