Extractor/Extractor Rod Threads?

The extractor rod,on my Model 24 Classic, was loose. It would screw itself out ad prevent the cylinder from closing. The fix - screw it back in! Tiring of this routine I chose to disasemble.

Now when I try to screw the extractor rod into the extractor it gets very tight well before seating.

It sounds like you picked up a grain of powder on the thread. Just take it back apart and clean i thoroughly, then use blue Loc-Tite on it.
