Extremely Disappointed with my new E Series Pistol

I never get it when someone posts thinking they know something about someone else when it's obvious they can't...

Sorry as of course you may be right.
He could have taken the photo b4 coming to the conclusion the gun is reliable.

However that is not a photo of a gun that's been shot or carried much.

Maybe they have a crystal ball. :D

unacceptable, if my 1400 dollar gun is going to get scratched, it will be by me, not some incompetent shelf stacker. I have had many expensive guns, they d eventually get a mark here or there, "if you use them" some people don't". I have seen guys send a special truck to pick up a new 500 twin turbo Mustang because they wanted it with zero miles on it. For a couple hundred grand you can expect to be treated special. It's your right when you pay for an expensive item to request exceptional service as you are paying for an exceptional weapon, Granted it's not a 5000 dollar 1911, but this should be the same no matter what it costs. And more so for items that have a high dollar value.

Most of today's manufacturers aren't in business because they prize craftmanship or strive to be the best, they're in it to make as much money as they can. This seems true for many firearms manufacturers these days (maybe because of the many mergers and buyouts). Let's be honest, quality control adds to the cost of production. Thus, quality becomes a balancing act, i.e., how little can they get away with before the number of complaints and returns cut into their profits.

So, the more that folks "settle" instead of demanding quality (quality also means fit and finish), the less quality they'll get.

Since I expect so little from today's manufacturers, I inspect all products I buy over the counter very, very closely to lessen the chance that I'll have to go through the hassle of a return.

Just my $ .02 on the matter.

All the colored alloy framed pistols get finish wear behind the slide stop...at least every one I've ever seen in person.

A 1.5k 1911 is an average priced gun not a work of art.

The real bummer is that if shot a lot the frame can and will crack. Most people, however, won't shoot 20k rounds through a gun in their lifetime.

It should not come “pre-scratched” from the factory.

I’d like to know more about the E Series.

1) Any internal drop safety? Or are they “Series 70” type guns?

2) Are the frames and slides forged?

3) Are there any MIM parts?

4) Does it have a conventional 1911 extractor?

Emory
The slide is a forged Series 70 type.
The frame is MIM
The extractor is external.
