In the early 1950s a new recruit showing up at the FBI Academy
would get to choose an S&W M&P (aka Model 10) or Colt's
Official Police. At that time the Bureau also issued holsters.
Photo on the left is Heiser's 457 with a model 10. It was provided
by Evaluators and Heiser.
Another issued holster was the Crump FBI model 2nd from left
also with the model 10.
Both Heisers and Crumps also came in the same style with the
hammer protector. Heiser's 459 is shown 3rd from left.
Not issued, but authorized and very popular with agents, was
the Myres 614 as shown 4th from left.
Also authorized and popular was the Berns-Martin Universal
Speed Scabbard shown 5th from left.
Lawrence's model 34 came a little later and was also popular,
but no room left for photo.
