Fear And Loathing

I used to have a live and let live attitude toward snakes, if they didn't bother me I left them alone. Since being bitten by a Copperhead in 2007 that has changed now I shoot first identify species later or as we used to say in my grunt days "kill em all,Let God sort em out".

Spiders creep me out. No problem with snakes.
Also heights, anything over about 15 feet i am
NOT comfortable. I too will also fly on occasion
but am again, NOT comfortable on airplanes.
If God meant us to fly he would have given us wings.

And if had meant us to drive, he would have stuck a wheel up our butt.

Large non-working dogs with no one in charge of them.
My friend is terrified of cats.
He has dogs.
I have cats.
We meet for Coors Banquet and little hot sausages on neutral ground.

I don't like snakes but leave them alone. I don't like wasps, got swarmed by a bunch a few years ago and have developed an allergy to them now. I kill them any chance I get now, from a distance.
I never minded confined spaces until I got trapped inside a large rooftop at work once. Wind blew the door shut and it had an ouside latch. I had to call on my cell phone for someone to get me out and usually my cell didn't work there. The quick prayer I said before trying to use it worked.
Now I'm not comfortable in tight quarters and won't get in them anymore at work unless I have someone with me.
BTW I removed the outside latches and sent an email to my boss suggesting all others be removed. I never heard back from him but concerned about liability too I'm sure.

I don't have any fear of snakes, spiders, bugs or much of any critter in my part of the world. I rather enjoy watching them. If they don't bother me, I don't bother them. Seems to work pretty well for both of us.

I do have an unusual thing about heights. As long as whats under me is reasonably solid, I'm good. I can stand at the edge of a 100 ft cliff and enjoy the view. No fear of flying either. But put me on a six foot ladder and if that sucker wobbles just once, I'm done!

I could have written both of these paragraphs.

I can't do heights. I don't like spiders, ticks and centipedes. Mosquitoes and flies in the house drive me crazy. If I see one, I won't rest until I kill it.

Well, I don't like spiders and snakes and that ain't what it takes to move me.

Nice Jim Stafford pull... :D

Heights do it for me.

Walking into a spider web in the dark will freak me out even though I KNOW it's 90% certain to be a harmless orb weaver or whatnot web.

Well snakes don't really bother me but this toad and the wife were none too happy.Just happened to take place in her garage.

Of course! But only after talking to the "right" people...explaining my position. You can't be subtle with these people!

"With a bit of luck, his life was ruined forever. Always thinking that just behind some narrow door in all of his favorite bars, men in red woolen shirts are getting incredible kicks from things he'll never know." :D

I think I'll have to read that book again!
