Feeling happy and sad

I love reading about and looking at photos of the pre interal lock Smiths. But I always feel sad afterwards thinking about the ones I let slip through my fingers over the years.

There are lots of "as new in box" S&W's that can be had for less than a new one. It might not be an heirloom, but it makes me feel better than buying brand new. It's kind of like driving a classic car.

I had a choice between a used 629 and a new 629... I could have afforded the new 629 at the time, but I went with the older used one because it had no lock. Not because I don't trust it... I have ILs and never had an issue.. but I do like how it looks without the lock better. I used the money I would have spent on the new one for more ammo.
