My local gun enabler called me last Saturday and asked me to stop by, said "I have something that you may interested in!" He wouldn't tell anything more than that.
When I walked in he hands me a lightly used 1006 Smith and says I'll make you a deal you can't refuse. $450 out the door, I off course jumped on the deal.

On the plus side this 1006 showed very like exterior wear, great barrel, the lock-up was as tight as a bank vault; Negative side it came with only one magazine & that magazine had the yellow follower.

With a serial number of TET17xx. What would that work out too for a year of birth.

Thanks
Al

awesome deal on an awesome gun man congrats

don't have the scsw in front of me but I think tet would be 91-2

That price would have had me feeling froggy too. Lucky day for you!:D:cool:

Probobally a stupid question on here but asking anyway, what is the diffirence tween the 1006 and the 1066 and you refer to the yewllow mag follower as not good?

A hearty congratulations from someone that also finally just scored on a 1006... l know the jubilation that comes along for the ride brother...:D

Federal Paper, the current 1006 mags have white followers. One of the issues with the earlier followers was cracking.

Congrats on the 1006. I love mine. I have 4 mags that still have the yellow follower and tjey work fine for me. Midway stocks the new white followers if you want them. Also they get new mags in from time to time. I have accumulated 10 mags now to share between my 1006 & 1086. Keep a check on gunbroker and auction arms and you can catch a deal occassionally. Good luck finding mags and enjoy it.

The 1006 is the full size with 5" and the 1066 is the mid size with 4 1/4" barrel both TDA.
