For various reasons, I haven't gone pistol shooting in over 1 1/2 years. Well, those "reasons" are happily resloved now, so this morning it was off to my indoor range. Even though I had not been to the range for sometime, I kept my annual membership up. So, my new range card was waiting for me upon arrival.

For this first trip in quite awhile, I chose to take my 4006 with adjustable sights and 4516-1. The 4516-1 had been back to S&W in the mid-1990s at which time the technicians there upgraded it with the new double spring set like a -2. It shoots great.

I was concerned that I might have lost my touch at shooting my 3rd Gens having been away from the range for so long. I began by putting 50 rounds through my 4006. I was pleasantly surprised that I was shooting better than fair and was improving with each magazine. I then moved to the 4516-1. By the time I put 50 rounds through it, I was feeling and shooing pretty well.

I then went back to the 4006 and shot 20 rounds. Things were looking very good. So, I put a couple of 1" bright dots on the upper left-hand corner of a silhouette. I then took my time with the 4006 and covered those two dots pretty well. I guess I can still shoot with these eyes of mine, even though they're almost two years older than the last time I shot a pistol. ;)

THE -1 IS ON THE ONE ON THE BOTTOM OF PHOTO

Congratulations on getting rid of your wife and living your life.
I read my original post again and see how that could be the take-away, but my wife of 36 years and I are doing just fine. It was just some family health issues that have all been resolved in very postive fashion.

Its been awhile since you graced my eyes with your posts Dick. I've learned a lot from you. You and 18DAI are my shooting heroes. I'm sickened by both of you concerning those things you call "groups". Mine are like two on paper at 30 feet is a group. What you jokers do is more like a OO Buck imprint at 10 feet, but I love you both......Glad you're well. Zebulon

Thanks, Zebulon. I haven't been back to the range since the above posting. All the holidays and family get-togethers have gotten in the way. But just wait until after the first of the new year. ;)

Well it looks like you have not forgotten how to shoot, keep on putting lead downrange.
