You got that gun back fast. I always thought that warranty repair on a S&W can take 6 weeks.
I have wondered about the integral cylinder stop on modern alloy frames for a while; that just seems like a weak element to the design.
What is to prevent a competent gunsmith from polishing off the entire dogleg/teardrop/whatchamacallit (which I think is unattractive anyway), then drilling for and inserting a steel plug that would recreate the old style detente system?
THANKS!
Now I know what to keep an eye out for on mine!
I'm at about the same ratio and round count.
This place is great!
S&W is sending a shipping tag so I can return my 340PD. The yoke appears to have cracked. I trust they'll fix it up properly.
It's aluminum. I was a little bit bummed out when I noticed the crack although honestly it may have been cracked for awhile, I may have just not noticed it before. The 340PD doesn't get much use so I'm a little disappointed it broke at a relatively low round count. (all factory loads in this gun)
