Finding any 9mm ammo?

Definitely should have gotten there names. One vendor had Ammo that was highr than usual, but at least he didn't gauge and explained that he had to pay more from his supplier.

That's totally reasonable and expected at this time.

Lemmee see - a lot of folks going out and buying 2x, 3x, 10x the ammunition they normally do and then wonder where it all went???

Good point blujax!

If you all would quit buying so much I could order 1000 rounds. :p

I just took inventory and have
1300 - 9mm,
1400 - .40,
1600 - .380,
2,400 - .22,
and only 300 - .45

When do you start getting 'low' on ammo? I feel low on 9mm now, and critically low on .45. I've been looking for a reasonable price on 9mm but I'm not finding it.

I may start reloading 9mm which I have never done.

Wow Lost Lake! And I thought I had a little:
9mm....600 rounds
40S&W....350 rounds
45ACP....250 rounds

I'm definitely half steppin'. Seriously though, in
The future I don't plan to have less than what I
have right now, & if I see any kind of deal, I'm
on it.

Well to be honest timn8tr, I don't count often and panic bought 600 rounds of 9mm two weeks ago when I saw guys grabbing it so fast as a stockboy brought it out. I was having trouble finding it online so I grabbed what I could. And the .380 I bought a boatload at an estate auction last year.

In this climate though I feel naked. And to think I have thousands of 9mm cases laying on the ground at my range, covered in snow.

Someone needs to invent a brass magnet! And as long as I'm asking, put a dial on it so I can pick up 9mm, then turn a knob and pick up .45, keeping everything separate. :D

There still looking at numbering/registering the ammo to us when we purchase it. Its still on the back burner for now. I figure if they stop the import of guns they may also stop the import of ammo too.

I just upgraded all my reloading equipment to turret and progressive presses to speed it up.

When things calm down i'll purchase more 22lr ammo to plink with.

.45 is plentiful down here, what I can't find is the weapon I want to shoot it (at least at a price I want to pay)!!! 9 is available occasionally but about 40% higher than early December, 22LR - nothing, and 40 is more available but about 30% more than early Decemebr. I saw 50 round boxes of FMJ 45 auto, multiple brands in multiple stores yesterday for about $20.

Geeze, you don't think there's anything strange with the Feds buying billions of rounds of ammo now do ya :)

Here in S. Texas I'm having a hard time getting any popular caliber ammo at all. Mostly looking for .22LR, 5.56 and 9MM. Trying to buy ammo online like I usually do is IMPOSSIBLE!! The price of ammo is gonna double and its gonna be even harder to get, especially 5.56mm Lake City stuff. The 'dealers' are really gonna try and 'gouge' us on this. Might not need any new gun legislation if we don't have any ammo (that's the back door approach to gun control)......thanks Obama!

Not true, Walmart came out with a statement saying it was false.

It may be regional. Two Walmart managers in stores 20 miles apart told me they were restricted by corporate on ordering ammo. Walmart resupplies regionally and I wonder if the impact threshold is being hit as the regional disti center runs dry of stock and supply in the order pipeline.

Walmart near me had about 20 boxes of Tulammo on this morning , 10.37 a box. I usually don't shoot the Russian stuff but bought a couple of boxes anyways

Found any! I'm not looking!

Since I shoot mostly .38 Special I haven't been looking for 9mm. Around Richmond it does seem scarce.

Got a couple boxes of 9mm for the old Model 39 but I won't buy another round until inflated prices come down. Which would be a good plan for all the rest of the ammo-crazed hoarders.

I seriously doubt there will be any ammo ban, tax or any of this other BS folks are worried about.

So when the hysteria finally stops, the major gun bills die in Congress (which I believe they will), things will gradually return to some semblance of normality and so will the supply of ammo. But by then a lot of folks won't need any ammo since they will have bought several years supply at inflated prices.

I predict there will be a glut of ammo in 6 months!

I guess we can be thankful it isn't 5.56. This was today at a LGS. And it was walking out the door

It has gotten so bad here in SW coast of FL, that I can't find anything, other than shotgun. I have 6 Walmarts within 18 miles, and in the last week, none have received any rifle or handgun ammo. At least when they get some in, I won't get ripped off on price. Their prices are still the same as pre - Sandy Hook.

I stopped in at the Academy Sports in Mesquite today, since I was out and about anyway. I was hoping to pick up a HKS 586 speedloader or two for the GP100 I just bought, and I thought I'd pick up some .38 Special as well. I figured they wouldn't have much if any .45ACP or 9mm ammo, but I didn't think .38 Special (not even the +P loads) would be in short supply. Wrong!

There was a sign on the ammo aisle saying that various calibers would only be sold at the CS counter, and would be limited to so much per customer per day. The list didn't include .38 Special, but there was none on the shelves...there was a few boxes of .357 Magnum, but only about three or four. I went to the CS counter just to ask, and they didn't have any there. They only had about one or two boxes of .45 and 9mm, but I didn't buy them...they were some brand I'd never heard of.

The CS representative said they started rationing certain calibers because gun shop owners were coming in and buying all their ammo, and stocking their own shelves, or taking it to gun shows to resell. I don't know how they know that, unless they know the gun shop owners on sight, and know what they did with the ammo when they left the store. I didn't want to debate it anyway, so I just left.

I have a few boxes of .38 Special, and I have ammo for my other pistols...I won't shoot all my .38 ammo until I can find some more. Who would have ever thought .38 Special (again, not even +P) would be in short supply? That's one reason I wanted to get the GP-100...I figured ammo for it would be cheap and easy to find.

I stopped at two different walmarts in the cincinnati ohio area today and their shelves are empty for handgun ammo. I asked the manager there when they would be getting more in and she said never as of two weeks ago corp no longer is allowing them to even place orders for ammo. So I have no idea what is going on with that and please dont take that like I am trying to start some rumor that Walmart is no longer dealing in ammo, I am just repeating what the local manager told me. Even our vendor that supplies our police supply is out of stock as well.

My local Walmart seems to be getting more and more in. I bought a couple of boxes of PPU 9mm and box of WWB Value pack .40 as well They are limiting you to 3 boxes of ammo per visit no matter what caliber.

This is the second time in 12 months that ammo has been hard to find. Last summer CCI .22 LR was very hard to find. I made a decision then to only buy by the case. I also decided to order when I was down to 1 case of .22 LR, two cases of 9mm and 1 case of .223. I rarely use .223 so I occasionally pick up a box if I see it. I buy 9mm from my LGS because they always have it at a good price and I buy the .22 LR online. The moral of the story is plan ahead, right now I have all I need so I can wait until stocks are replenished.
