1976 Honda Trail CT90. I bought it around 1980, ran it around for a year or two and then it pretty much just sat in the garage until 1987 when I got it running again. Sat again for 13 years until we moved it to Missouri in 2000, pushed it in the garage and it sat again until this winter.

I know, I know, not at all good. I rebuilt the carburetor, pulled the head, adjusted the valves, replaced the coil and points and flushed out the tank and replaced both tires and battery. Took all winter, but this weekend I finished her up and it started on the second kick!

I decided not to repaint the frame or plastic when I had it all apart thinking it might be cool to leave her bone stock original.

Anyways, here is a couple of pics:

I haven't seen one of those in a looooong time. It's great when a plan comes together! Those pictures have "Born to be wild" written all over them!

I think that was my daughters when she played softball. Anyways, it works just fine around the farm and I can't take any chances as I got bucked off a horse three years ago and got a concussion.

Besides, I'm old and we get to be eccentric.

I've been hearing those damned things all week! They will disappear come the season though.

Forget that one then.

Eccentric is when you are rich-In my station of life it's called "old grumpy a-hole" or just plain old "mean & crazy".

Know a guy who is retired high school physics teacher and a Vietnam vet-Nicest most mild mannered guy you would ever want to know. Owns around 50 acres near my duck ponds and runs a few head of cattle. Has a reputation of being a wild man who goes around his farm with a 4" 29 on his hip having flashbacks-He grins at this and has told me that it came from an incident 20 or so years ago when he chased some kids out of his pasture (they were looking for mushrooms). He has as warped a sense of humor as I, or Sip for that matter, and does nothing to squelch the "crazy" rumor-he tells me his friends all know better and if they don't, he doesn't want them around anyway. He rides a little Honda like yours too.

I prefer to say: You are a gentleman and a scholar and there are damn few of us left in the world today.

Nice bike, have fun.

Hey Bassamatic, cool beans dude! I ought to find a trail 90, nice utility bike. Park it with my Harleys to show em what a working bike looks like.

Grew up with a trail 90. Don't remmeber what year it was, but I got it in about 78 and it was used. Put lots of miles on it until I got my drivers license. Great learner bike.

Cool old scoot. Looks like it has the lights to tag it also. That would be a fun little grocery getter.

This winter I picked up a 20 year old 89 CR500 for $300 in pieces. I put it back together and have been riding some trails here in Colorado. Fifteen years without a bike and I started riding this again.

Thanks to all for the kind comments. You know, when I was younger, I did a lot of work like this but had to relearn some of it. There aren't many vehicles nowadays where a guy can roll up his sleeves and fix them like we used to.

It was fun.
