If systemic racism were the norm - as so many want to claim - then why would the whole rest of the world be so hell-bent on coming here? Even if getting here means risking life and limb?

Money. Minimum wage in California is $16/hr. So $2560 a month while in your country it is $213.

If Canada had a $250/hourly minimum wage I would be there. For the older people here, remember the Alaska pipeline jobs in the 1970s? I know a lot of people went there. It was a “Gold Rush”.

HAVANA TIMES – “It doesn’t stretch far enough,” is a lament heard up and down the impoverished Central American isthmus, voiced by the masses of workers who earn a basic wage that’s not enough to cover their needs. The situation pushes many into the informal market or impels them to emigrate. In Nicaragua, the minimum monthly wage – equivalent to US $213 dollars a month.

There is a lot of money spent and made out there, to be sure.
But they are also bankrupt.
And so is our Federal government.
Heard on the radio last night and this morning the the interest (one trillion) on the national debt for 2024 will be larger than the entire defense budget of 875 billion.

The USA Defense Budget is larger than the next ten countries put together. The Military Industrial Complex here in the US made the millionaires of the 1960s, billionaires today. Their children will be trillionaires.

Remember the Kursk Submarine Disaster? The nuclear-powered Project 949A Antey submarine K-141 Kursk sank in an accident on 12 August 2000 in the Barents Sea. It was taking part in the first major Russian naval exercise in more than 10 years. All 118 personnel on board were killed.

The Russians could not save their lives. Once officially informed, the British government, along with the USA, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, and Norway, offered help.

AMEN to that - I couldn't agree more.

The US of A is not and has has never been perfect - no nation or culture created by men ever has been perfect. BUT, ever since 1776 our country has continued to make progress towards becoming a more and more egalitarian society.

A realistic assessment of history clearly shows that our Constitutional Republic has resulted in the GREATEST levels of personal freedom and liberty for the MOST people, in the entire recorded history of the world.

So, the United States is not the horrible systemically racist society that the left wants to portray us as being.

If systemic racism were the norm - as so many want to claim - then why would the whole rest of the world be so hell-bent on coming here? Even if getting here means risking life and limb?

The proof is in the pudding, as the old saying goes...

Is the US of A perfect?

NO.

But it is still the BEST and FREE-EST society in the history of the world. Despite it's flaws.

Perfectly stated!

THANK YOU!
Your post only reinforces the point I was making.

Is the USA perfect? NO!

BUT...

It is still BEST alternative in the whole world - possibly in the HISTORY of the whole world!

Is there ANY other country in the modern world that has to deal with the problem that there are MILLIONS of people wanting to get IN (rather than wanting to get OUT) - no matter WHAT it costs them?

Not as far as I know.

Another old saying is that...

Capitalism is the WORST possible economic system - EXCEPT for ALL the others! :)

I think it is fair to say that the USA is the worst country - except for all the others!

FWIW, if it were an independent country, the economy of California would make it the 5th richest nation in the world.

That is the basis for the statement that "as goes California, so goes the nation".

The economic influence of the state of California on the rest of the United States should NEVER be under-estimated. When we have one state with more economic power than most independent nations, that is a force to be reckoned with.

As the old saying goes: Follow the money.

Money is POWER and California has a LOT of it.

California faces a 68 billion dollar deficit.

Budget deficit: Legislative analyst projects $68 billion hole- CalMatters

Yeah, you have a point. HOWEVER, under the current economic system, deficit spending doesn't really figure into the size of the economy of a state - or even a country.

Case in point: The US currently has a total deficit of over 30 TRILLION dollars.
Does anyone think that means we aren't still the largest economic engine in the world?
Does that mean there isn't more cumulative wealth in this country than in any other country in the world?
Does anyone think it means the US doesn't have a HUGE influence over the economies of the rest of the world?

Looking at deficits alone as a measure of an economy is almost completely irrelevant in the current world economic system.

Judging any economy on that basis alone is far too simplistic.

Never Forget ...

Registration is the First Step ...

Confiscation is the next step ...

Unarmed men are easier to control ...

Do you know the one thing that slaves were not allowed to have ...

Guns ... men will fight and die for their freedom !

And this my friend is what they fear most

The numbers do not lie, We The People are more powerful than they are, and both sides know that simple fact

Registration is the first step to CONFISCATION.

NO THANKS! If you're a patriot, get out of CA!

I've had family in the UK ask me why POTUS is elected using an electoral college. My short answer is, "Because of California."

When I was in High School, I didn't care that the potheads and screw-ups were messing up their own lives. My thought was that it meant more opportunity for me. I have since discovered that this was short sighted and counter productive.

Same thing with California. What happens there is happening to us as well. It is our best interests that they don't descend into the pit.

Good chance Newsom will be the D presidential candidate in November. Anybody wanna bet?

I heard Gavin Newsom is in a fight again facing another Recall? Not sure of the validity of this claim but I did here that on the radio a few days ago.
Also I had a very good chance to Buy a Smith at a really good price and decided not to as I refuse to give Ca a nickel of my money. Sorry CA friends on this forum. Just how I feel about the west coast in general. Libtards are so desperate to control our everyday lives it's pathetic and tragic. I have family out there and I have had to disown about all of them. Too hard to converse with people when the heads are stuck in the clouds.

I spent 25 years military (USMC) and then 20 years as a deputy sheriff. I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies; foreign and domestic. Any LEO or military member involved in the confiscation of privately owned weapons is no longer my brother.......they have become my enemy.
