Well first time Smith buyer... And im not one to ever leave anything alone.

Bought my Shield 9 brand new 2 weeks ago

Took it out the next day for first shots

Not satisfied, mods began, stripped slide and cleaned the burrs out of the plunger bore, then off to the blast cabinet for some quality time with some Aluminum Oxide resulted in raw stainless finish. Next was the Meprolite Night sights. And finally a NDZ cover plate, reassemble and add texture to the front pad of the grip... This is the results

And finally set up my new Foxx holster

Let me know what you think, i come from Glocks so looking forward to learning new things here

Looks awesome! Gotta few questions, how do those sights benefit from the stock ones? They look very similar to the stock ones. The NDZ plate is a nice touch.

Ah, a new convert. Glad to have you.

Question; am I seeing that right? Are you wearing your spare mag on the same side as your gun? If so, how do you perform reloads?

Welcome to the dark side. I also came from Glock. Not too much wrong with them except I gave mine to my son when I retired from armed security & before we had a concealed carry law. I like my M&Ps better, though.

Welcome, that looks very nice. I guess you weren't happy with accuracy, seems as though the only changes you made addressing accuracy were the sights and trigger performance, have you had a chance to see if there were any improvements?

Have not got to shoot it again yet, will try to in next couple of weeks, will see how it does then ill polish lower trigger components if necessary. May go to Apex kit if i cant get it where i want it, trigger feels much better than my Glock with ghost connector and full polish, never realized how mushy Glock triggers were till i got the Shield

I reach back with left hand and pull the mag... Mag sits just to the right of 6 o'clock with gun between 3 o'clock belt loop and back pocket

What is the difference in the Apex kit and the Apex trigger, are they separate parts or do they come together, whats the advantage of one or the other?

You can get kits that have everything in them or you can just get various kits that have just parts in them. An example is the duty carry kit. It mostly is springs, no trigger. Then there are separate triggers you can get, different spring sets, etc. I suggest you go to the APEX web sight and take a look around. Also Google them to learn more. I decided to put in the DECAK kit in my 9c because I wanted a lighter trigger pull. While I have not shot it yet, I have dry fired it, I am pleased with the results. I decided to do this after 700+ rounds through it.

welcome to S&W. glad you are here. your new S&W firearm looks great...
