I get it, there are practical/tactical reasons for rails on pistols. That said, and this is purely personal, I don’t need or like them. So, is there a fix for them? Does anyone make a “filler” that changes the profile to a more rounded look? I’m probably in the minority not liking the rail and there may not be a market for a “filler”. Oh well, I can live with the rail…just don’t like ‘em.

Let me add that putting something on the gun, just to cover up a rail is only adding weight and bulk.

You could also remove the rail with a grinder, files and sandpaper.

Or simply don't buy any gun with a rail. That has worked out well for me and I have a mill and radius cutters, 2 industrial strength belt grinders and a blue tank setup.

Well, I do not and never have used the rails for mounting anything. While I do not particularly like them, they don't keep me up at night - I just leave them be. If nothing else, I suppose they slightly reduce the overall weight of said pistol and filling them would add that weight back on.

I would also suspect that "filling it" would also make the overall appearance fairly ugly and doubt it would be permanent as it could fall off and even cause it to lodge in a holster. It could even fly off when shooting the gun. I'd seriously just ignore it or find a different model without one.

It would help to know the pistol and the type of rail. There are inexpensive lightweight covers for Picatanny rails.

I put some West Lake Tactical covers on my CZ Scorpion, which makes the "forearm" much more user friendly. They come in 2" long sections and can easily be cut to fit. You can get 12 of them for around $6 plus shipping. They would fit on a conventional semi-auto pistol with a mil-spec rail, but finding a holster to accommodate it might be a problem.

I put some of the the leftover covers on my 15-22.

Since when is aesthetics a factor in selecting accessories for firearms? I guess I missed that bus!

Aesthetics are important,,

If I had a handgun with a rail that I did not like,,
I would cover it with a grenade launcher,, you know,, something,,, simple, and does not distract from the gun,,

:D
